Reading my new book about the flying boat factory at Windermere ( written by a chap on here ) , whilst listening to Pink Floyd’s Keep Talking on my MP3 player and eating a fairy cake my daughter had just made . Bliss !!
You seem crazy on Flying Boats BB. What’s the connection?

On second thoughts,I think I’ll forget the idea of a present This is because yesterday he expressed the genuinely – held view that women who were raped were ” asking for it “.I gently pointed out that if he said that again he’d be carrying his nuts home in his onboard luggage .
I’m disgusted on behalf of sane men.
The “General View” of ALL men I know is that rapists should be castrated, preferably with blunt knives by angry women that are in prison and in need for some sport.

Well,
I for one assumed you were stuck with Littlewoods because you had some sort of deal, 25% off or similar.
So, if paying weekly monthly is your wish, then go for an entry level Dslr, preferably 2nd hand (If you can get finance for it). You need to “Cut your teeth” on something cheap, then move up as your finances and skills allow.
BTW, I’ve been taking pictures for 35 years, have won Photographer of the year at two seperate camera clubs, had a couple of pics published…….but some of the shots on here, done by the profs, are far superior than any of mine and are better than can be found in some magazines. Aspire to that level, but to get there needs a lot of experience and a darn good camera and even better lenses. The prices of some of the kit used on here would get you a decent NEW car.
I wonder what would have happened had the price been increased by 5p or 10p. I am willing to bet that many would be up in arms over having such an awkward price requiring the AVP (and it’s visitors) to stockpile on small change money. Considering the low price the AVP was charging they where between a rock and a hard place.
Now don’t get me wrong, a 100% increase is a lot. But get some perspective already! It´s a single pound! It´s a bit under a the price of a litre of diesel; a bit over the weekday’s Times edition, but “considerably” lower then the saturday Times edition; it’s two/thirds the price of a small Starbucks cup of whatever it is they call Espresso.
They just opened a new shelter for the Concorde! Was I the only one that expected the price to increase as a result?
Having ranted that, I agree with the comment made that the AVP should have announced the price hike in advance. Just changing it overnight without advance warning is very sloppy.
If it’s to pay for Concorde’s hut, then charge it to the Concorde part of the AVP.
Perspective is NOT at issue here, in fact it is totally pointless. “Well it’s only a pound, a BMW car went up £500” Pointless comparison.
With BoE rate at 0.5%, RPI (RPI 04 tables) 12 months to Jan 09 at 0.1%, escalation expected to be within 2% in 2009. Need I go on?
10p rise is still 5 times escalation forecast 2009. Recession? Yeah, making the scheisters richer because good men do nothing. AVP are not the only sinners here either.
It’s typical of the modern unethical business practices, hit the easiest target the hardest, because (a) They are too worn-down to fight back (b) Because they NEED the service and have no option.
I am not ranting about a £1 (I don’t read papers or drink expensive froth, nor drive a tractor BTW) I am sincerely speaking about the general “Rip-off Britain”. It has to stop.
Total support of Grey Area!
I simply CANNOT believe the amount of people on here that are SUPPORTING a 100% increase in a Service. Is this the result of the offsprings of Thatchers Britain? Probably!
This “Never mind, mustn’t grumble” attitude of my fellow countrymen is a sad, very sad sign of the demise of society. It’s such attitudes that allow these highway robbing scheisters to get away with it.
Where’s the boycott? Where’s the protests? Peaceful of course, don’t go torching the place.
And, furthermore, most “Spotters” go on pushbikes don’t they? Easy target, doubling that fee. AVP know that the regular users are spotters, they will have to put up or shut up. The odd person driving there for a day out won’t mind the 25% rise….if they knew the previous price anyway.
So, it’s up to you regulars to vote with your feet. YOU have the power, not these corporate muggers.
Hubby’s aunties lived to 95 & 98 with all their marbles. Both were single. ‘Nuff said ?
As my Granny (98 and single) always says. “I may have been left on the shelf but I get a good dusting now and again”.

Pity that you are stuck with Littlewoods.
The only camera they have for your needs is the (According to on-line Spring 09 cat.) is the Kodak 10mp, 15x Optical Zoom.
I used to have a similar camera (A lookalike DSLR) and I was very pleased with it. Mine was a Panasonic.
You must be a tight a*se Yorkie or a Scotsman then!!!
Scot? They are just Geordies with their heads kicked in.
Yorkie? Wrong colour Rose!
I just don’t like spending money.

Hmmm. That sounds like a logical explanation. My apologies, you’re obviously not as daft as I thought.( You see that ? Women do admit to being wrong occasionally. )
This remark will have you thrown out of the sisterhood!
I’ve had my excellent moments of thickdom! The car alarm was my best, but that’s another tale for another day.

A memorial book for victims of the Mt Erebus air disaster in 1979 has probably disappeared for good after being stolen yesterday from St Matthew In The City.
“I don’t have much hope for recovery of the book unless the guy gets a conscience or he dumps it and somebody finds it,” Rev Clay Nelson of the inner city Auckland church said this morning.
The book was taken yesterday afternoon by a male wearing a cap.
It was inside a glass case below the Erebus memorial windows at the church.
“We have security camera footage of it being taken about 12.20pm, but it’s hard to identify the offender,” Mr Nelson said.
The book was put together for a memorial service for the 257 people who lost their lives in the Air New Zealand plane crash on Mt Erebus, Antarctica on November 28, 1979.
The leather-bound book contains the names of all the victims in calligraphic writing.
Reverend Nelson said the book had no value to the offender. He said he was not too hopeful it would be returned.
The offender has been described as a man in his 20s or 30s, of dark complexion, and neatly dressed with a denim jacket, jeans and a cap worn backwards.

Neatly dressed in that lot?
Cap worn backwards is pure Chav/Pikey trademark. Prank or not, he should be Birched for it.
