Surely if you like something, you like it regardless.I’ve just gone from Richie Havens to Keane by way of Linkin Park and Youssou N’Dour. If I have a box of Quality Street I don’t have to eat all the green triangles before starting on the orange creams,it’s a random selection ( though the green triangles are definitely the best ).

That’s the sort of link Jimmy Young would make. And yes, I snaffle all the purple ones first.

I couldn’t possibly jump from say Beatles to Chike, or dance to folk. I could never go near Opera unless it’s a BIG production like Carmen and I could never jump from Carmen to The Smiths.

I’ve just spent 2 hours in the bath, Mp3 on with same Genre. Same Album actually.
Defence and Aviation monthly, 2 pints of tea (Very large cup), packet of Fig biscuits (Fig Newtons to you americans) and 4 Walnut Whips (Well, they are only a mouthful big these days). And a LARGE purple Q. Street.
    Luxury!

Yep, frequently. It isn’t uncommon for me to jump from something like Rammstein to Sarah McLachlan to Joni Mitchell playing only one or two songs from each.

I somehow never found Bob Hope amusing i’m afraid…as far as Abbot and Costello go they weren’t a patch on the Greatest comedy duo the world has ever known...i have nearly every movie and short Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy ever made all digitally remastered onto DVD

Absolutely no argument there! And of course, Stan was English!
    “What did he die of”
    “He died of a Tuesday”
    Class.

I wonder if this starts a L&H quotes theme.

I saw a “conspiracies” show where they blew away that notion, but they interviewed a guy who makes a living writing books about it.

never let the truth get in the way of a good story……

……see that little Devil at the end of me post?

Cartoons are for the wee Bairns man!!!

The nippers do not get more than half the jokes man!

As for US humour not being funny etc.
Bob Hope? (OK, so Monkhouse wrote most of the stuff)
    Frasier?, Cheers?

The list goes on, but when it comes to the absolute side splitting stuff, only the Brits, and usually the BBC, can do it.

I’ve laughed my socks off at some US stuff, but it’s usually a very simple humour.
Oh, and we must alway pay homage to Abbot and Costello, under-rated in the UK for some reason. “Who’s on third” is one of the all time classics.

Yeah, I mix it up a bit! 🙂

    Paul

But do you randomly jump between genre?

When I put “The Who” on, I need the whole album….even if I have to pause it for work.
I could listen to several genres in a day, but not mixed.

It also means Celien Dion on the radio, ALL DAY EVERY DAY:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Still, the movie does show Kate Winsletts acting, ahem:diablo:, assetts very well something like 1 hr 16 mins in (so I’m told….):dev2:

On a serious note, despite the long running Titanic interest, the sister ship story is interesting as well. Hospital ship, torpedoed etc etc.

You mean the Titanic. The ship that sank was the sister ship. Swapped as part of the insurance swindle when the RN clobbered her in the dock. As well you know:dev2:

I’ve not done any IR since about 1977, in the olde worlde emulsion days. I’ve been watching closely on the Digital scene because there are now gizmo’s in camera’s that supposedly give the IR effect.
I’ll try the photoshop method, as I imagine the R71 is a lot of money, which I haven’t got due to another mouth to feed.

I’ve a mixed bag on the mp3, but I never mix duration any listening session. I never use random play or such like either. Can’t leap from Johny Cash to Tiesto!
