Did you take the UV filter off?

If it landed safely, why would there be anymore news?

I’ve had numerous a/c have birdstrikes on landing up at LBA, normally just needs a quick look over by the engineer, wipe the blood off and anyway you go!!

Throughout the world, Rolls Royce have 1 birdy mince per day in their engines.
The repair side of their business is bigger than their original sales of JetLumps.

I don’t own one (any mp3 player), but I hear the Archos products are pretty good: http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5/index.html?country=global&lang=en

    Thanks for that.
They seem to be good kit, but even more expensive than Ipod.

Ah yes… even pilots can be born stupid.

Found this one of a Puma flying a tad low!

    http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=gf4pdBNSA1k&feature=related

Looked like part of a test to me, a mail pick or similar. Hence the camera and spectators, it was all set up ready.
None of the watchers were surprised at the low level, so maybe it is a regular thing. Or, it could have been edited, like so much on youTube.

How’d you like to wrap your laughing gear ’round this monstrosity…only in America

    She looks OK to me.

    Not necessarily, and not always.

    ITYM never.

There is no Aerospace company that I know of which doesn’t put the bottom line first. Will it make money, can we pay a dividend? End of.
Without Government assistance, “Being involved” in a great programme eg Concorde has gone forever.
Government assistance is still there, but they want a return on the dollar too.

I’m guessing that’s a bit like when they advertise internal vacancies where I work because they have to be seen to be doing so, even though the job is already in the bag for ‘someone’…? 😉

    Correct.
The A380 is no more than a stalking horse. A snowball in hell has got more chance.
We do it to them too.
If US Gov just announced it was going for a 747, then boeing would fill their boots with the price…even after it is subject to price audit etc. At least the US Gov. can turn to Boeing and say “Airbus can do it for $X” and use it as a lever to keep costs down.
Airbus and its supporters can dream about getting Air Force 1, it will never happen. Obama is just being the new brush trying to sweep clean. He’ll get pegged down in congress.
Apart from being “Not American”, it’s also too new. There are problems lurking in the A380 that will take 5 years in-service to find out. I just hope that none of the problems bring one down.

Our Eastern yerp friends are partial to our Freshwater Fish. Where we would fish for sport, be careful with the handling and let them go again, this lot are knocking them on the head for food. Bream, Perch, Roach, Chub etc. All part of their daily diet. A lot of waters are now patrolled 4 times a day by the wardens, but the East Yerps come at night with large nets. Some waters are now empty of large fish. Fights have developed between true anglers and the thieves.
I have tried Perch as part of a survival training lark, it was naff. Mud with bones in….but obviously it would save your life should it need to. I wouldn’t mind trying Pike (Don’t tell him!) because Pike was a delicacy before the gentry turned to Salmon.

    Here we go again.
    PC versus free speech.
Let’s be clear, racism is wrong on all levels. Good humour and banter is right on all levels and should be encouraged and responded with equal banter.

PC’ness is equally wrong on all levels. It belittles those it is supposed to protect. It was created by bone-idle idiots, usually in local authorities who had nothing better to do than think of things we mustn’t say. “Chalkboard” FFS! The Black in Blackboard was not negative to Black people so why was it deemed so. “Ship shape and Bristol fashion”, not PC because these wan***s had assumed it meant that the slaves were all lined up and ready for sailing; which just shows that most of these sorts obviously wasted their time at school.
Thankfully, PC ness is on the decline, proper comedy is appearing back on the TV and the circuit.
As for Harry, he has been sent on a PC training course, to learn that in this mans Army he must not be “One of the lads” when there are sh**stirring nomarks lurking around with a camera.
