Let’s not talk politics, there is not, probably never has been and never will be a decent politician. Their dishonesty is Biblical.

What does USA think of it’s allies?
A country that is rich (In oil or real money), is willing to be used as an A/c carrier and votes the right way (Do as your told for a fee…bent politics again!) in the UN can be an ally. Local problems like the disgusting regime of Saudi Arabia for example are mere circumstance.

Which isn’t a bad thing, as my enemies are USA enemies, so I know who’s side I’m on.

Do post a picture of your current vehicle and we’ll judge the relative ‘stupidity’ levels 😉

    Moggy

    E34 2.0 litre
    E36 2.0 litre
Orion 1.8 Ghia for running about in.
All past 150k miles, all going strong.

Oh please….and we have Kangaroos and snakes in the main streets

Hey, it’s not an insult to you antipodeans Steve.
Oz is a long way to go for a fortnights break, and too much to see on a holiday, you need a 5 weeker.
    Snakes, make good shoes.
Roos, rats with PR, and treated as such LoL.
Whenever they needed a close-up of Skippy switching a switch on the radio etc. the film crew would just pop out and 12-bore a roo, hack it’s arm off for the close up and then bin it. Mr Irwin wasn’t around in those days.

It’s not Bond anymore. It is excellent viewing, but it isn’t the James Bond we can safely watch at 5pm Christmas day.
They have had to violence it up a bit to make sales in the USA. Just like Batman, how dark and grim have they made that!
Bond is now a total action movie, and if I want total action…as stated earlier Rambo / Seagal / Willis will suffice. Or, IMO a series far superior to Bond (Spy type) films was the “Bourne” trilogy.
On the actual topic, I likes Connery, but the wit in Roger Moore’s Bond was dry and cutting and so British.

Fasteners are mentioned again. About 3% wrong . . .

When are they going to get a handle on this? They’ve had the same problem for over a year.

Brake control problems have also been mentioned.

They are now learning what A400M team have had to suffer with for a few years. Stepping from short stubby plastic Spars/Skins on a fighter/small bomber to a flexing jetliner wing is a massive leap.
The weight savings are not being seen as initially forecast (By a LOT) but the overall weight is still less than an all metal solution.
IMO CFR plastic is OK for panels and doors plus other aereodynamic trims but the major structures of main wing spars and skins needs a lot more research.
The weight is saved by having plastic skins, to which you need plastic spars bolted to it, or the thermal expansion differences will create disaster. The Spars are about 25% heavier than if made of all metal, but the lighter skins make up for it.
Fire is still my main concern, the fibres will melt at the temperature of the Sun, but the resin that holds them is gone at 220 deg C. The retarding paints and titanium shields had better work!

Robbie if you want sunshine in January.. come down here to the antipodes…temperatures between 36c and 44c

With Spiders that come at you at eye level! (Quote Mr Connolly)

Flahdur is pleasantly warm in January. All the snowbirds from the colder US states fly down for some winter sun.

I agree with those that use the word “Hype” in any energy discussion.

Any excuse for a Guvmint or Energy company to warn you that “There isn’t much left” so prices must rise 40%….are you spotting a pattern here!!

Energy light bulbs are outrageously useless.

On topic, Hybrid cars use more power when running the carbon fuel bit, as they are charging the battery bit. And, they look stupid. Do you want to look stupid in a car? (Don’t answer that if you already own a Smart car).
If you are concerned about the smog in a city then use the public transport system. It’s in cities that the transport systems actually are, they are generally not in the countryside where 1 bus every two hours is the norm.
If you are concerned about the pound in your pocket on running costs, then buy a new modern petrol / Derv car.

Personally, I never buy a car that is younger than 12 years and I have never gone into 4 figures for a car. So, I have no loans or finance to pay, just Tax/Insurance and MoT and of course fuel. So, if I wanted to, I could go back to my 3.0 litre that used 24mpg on a good run, and still be spending less in a year than somebody in a brand new hybrid.

    Nukes don’t produce greenhouse gasses…
    Coal does, so does oil…
Some don’t want new dams built that might impact fish migrations…
    Wind turbines hurt birds…
The makings of solar cells aren’t exactly eco-neutral…

There is no such thing as a free lunch.
If you want to save Polar bears, go nuke…
If you’re worried about waste, don’t.

Somebody better be willing to make a tough decision…the enviro activists don’t seem to want to, each seems to have their own pet project…and the population keeps getting larger.
Or else the lights will go out.
Any volunteers for going w/o electricty?

Well said 100%. The Green idiots have it wrong, but unfortunately thay have the ear of an equally thick Guvmint.
Now, back on topic, of the Bombs lost, how many are actually unstable…in that there can be a radiation leak? They cannot be unstable in a bangy/swish/whooo firework way as the detonation process cannot work.
The threat of them being found and used in terror weapons is probably a more serious problem…..but they have been hidden from many military searches, so that’s probably safe too?
