I watched Schindler’s List on DVD last week and was surprised how laboured some of the historical points were, especially from director Steven Speilberg, but I suppose that was for the benefit of the (hopefully) younger members of the audience.

Personally I remember the TV mini-series ‘Holocaust’, that was probably shown on British TV in 1978 or 1979, with great fondness; I was young enough to ‘enjoy’ the action but old enough to appreciate the history lesson.

I’m sure there are many who would disagree with you as to Israel having the ‘best’ foreign policy; annexing of land, walled ghettos, displacement and suppression of indigenous population…..any of that sound familiar?

    Yep. Terminal 5.

When dealing with nations that want to wipe you away, their “best” is the only way.

If I, for some odd reason, was forced to pick a side to fight along with in an Arab/Israel war, I know where I’d be.

I watched Schindlers last night. A landmark in films IMO. Far from being anti war, it actually justifies war.
It’s never any wonder to me that Israel has the best foriegn policy when it comes to angry arabs next door. A little decorator with a stupid moustache pushed the jews around before, it won’t happen again, from anybody.

Not sure about Boris intentions regarding atheists, but bendy buses are going and a new version of the routemaster is on the drawing board 😉

    This, is good.

I’m astonished that anybody watches that sort of dross.

Each to their own I suppose.

    Moggy

It is dross, but I’d like to think that “Talent” wins through. If the public vote then it probably won’t. Simon and the Irish fella know thier stuff, the girls on the panel are just there to look at.
I noitice also that to be a star in this arena (Chav/Pikey/ITV1) you need to be good looking, there are some right mingers getting through these days.

Despite my large amount of very serious experience in music as a sound engineer and musician, I’ve never actually heard a definition of ‘perfect vocal use’. Please give me one! 🙂

    Paul

P.S. That wasn’t meant in a nasty way, I’m just very cynical! 😀

    Frank Sinatra.

Ok, Old Shape, I agree with everything you say, does that make you feel better, don’t get so upset about it.
What upsets me about the whole affair is that Ross has been replaced on Saturday morning on Radio 2 by Richard Mallinson, the most dull, boring, patronising radio presenter ever to grace any radio station, talk about pretending to be safe, if thats the best they can do, then it’s back to Planet Rock Radio on a saturday morning for me.

PT, I’m not upset. It takes real issues to move into my emotions.
I agree, Saturday morning will be Discovery/History Channel on the telly for me for next 11 weeks. Unless decorating like today, in which case I’m stuck with that dimwit on R2 (The dial on the Bush look-a-like Radio is broken….fixed it once, it’s a chord driven wheel affair, but is twanged off again)
