Well, I dunno if Piqy crashed on purpose or not……all I know for sure is that it is impossible for an activity which involves so much money not to be corrupt at some or all levels.

I’ll be in Birmingham on Tuesday, mate. I’m out and about all next week.

    And I’m in Bristol.

The OrenAir website saying my flight out of Moscow tomorrow evening to Orenburg is a TU-154 is making me smile a hell of a lot! Not too sure about the 21 hour train journey to the next concert in Chelyabinsk though!

    Paul

You lucky lucky swine! A “REAL” train journey. I travelled from Moscow to Perm (ex Molatov) by rail. 30+ hours. In winter. Scenery, real Vodka, good people. A recipe that is hard to beat!

When I read this, I had to ask myself “What is being achvieved by naming these people?”

    And I answer, NOTHING!

Agreed, another episode from scumbag journalism Ltd. Surely naming them (Assuming without permission) is agin human rights?

In 17plonk, a paternal relative of mine was hung for “Grand theft horse” or whatever they called it back then. He nicked a full train of Horses that was due to pull the Post. So, I am “Bound” to be a Post Office robber. LoL.

    Hi
Whats the best program for downsizing your pictures ?
Any ideals about a easy to use and cheap program ?

By far the cheapest is the free ones! GOTO Microsoft site, search for the Powertoys, then Image resizer. It really is great for the job. It’s algorithm is totally satisfactory for Web use, or to Email piccies without clogging up their inbox. Download is very quick, and it’s Microsoft.
Image resizer is used without even opening the file. Select it in Browser, right click, select “Resize Pictures” (1024 x 768) and it saves another file with same name, suffixed ‘Copy’.jpg

I use this for the Emailing of pictures to family etc. For web use I use the “Save for Web” option in Photoshop….primarily because I’ve been messing with it in Photoshop anyway.

edit…for info, for upsizing I now use “Genuine Fractals”. A plug in for Photoshop. I’ve just upsized from 167 ppi (It was a massive crop from an image) to 600 ppi, used the GF tools and it’s sharp enough to cut a steak! Great tool!

You will find a few other Powertoys there too. I have the Taskbar magnifyer, the Alt-Tab switcher and the Tweak Ui thing (which I don’t really use)

Hear hear to that. He cooked stuff that could be easily done in the average kitchen…or showed you ways round it. Enjoyed all is shows.

“A woman has complained about me sticking my finger in a dish to taste it……well my dear, I’d like to come and watch you eat your sandwiches in your white gloves!”

What I miss about TW is that it showed you the initial prototypes. These days, we only see technology once it is proven and ready for market. It could be the fear of copyright protection but is more likely the fear of being wrong on TV. The morse code speaker was actually going down the right lines. “Machines” understood signal wavelength in a sort of morse form long before todays speach recognition. I once took home a magnetic tape from a numerically controlled machine tool….put it on the Reel-to-reel player at home. It sounded like a cross between Pink Floyd, Blue Oytster Cult and a dying cat, all coked out man.
