Someone, somewhere, just has to have been battered to death with a mathematical instrument or text book.

    Here he lies, Professor Jones,
No more now than a set of bones.
From this life did he depart
With two set squares thrust through his heart.

    Regards,

    kev35

Goddammit! I know this from somewhere! Obviously you’ve put the Set Squares in, but where o where is the original from?

Yep, pretty much – Virgin America uses a system where food and drink is ordered using the PTV, sending the request to a computer in the galley. Not sure if V Australia use the same system. I think it’s quite a good idea myself..

I prefer the Dinner ladies to bring it with a smile. Blokes cabin crew…..I’d send Email.

As for the subject matter, the pillock should pay the losses incurred and have a 5 year flight ban.

    Ditto.

Does the team think the “Apple” logo is a tribute to his death? Or on we on Mythdom here?

Within that strict context, not an awful lot.

I do have to take issue with one thing in your post, though.

Have you ever see Phil Collins playing with a big band?

Always a far better drummer than he’s given credit for these days – and the poor sod’s had to retire from playing on medical grounds..

Aye, all that sort of music needs is Frank up front, fabulous. OK, I know Phil was good, I just took objection to his apparent “Control” of Genesis in the latter days and he does come over big-headed………even last week he announced to the press (Re him packing it in) “Don’t worry, I can still sing”.

Re his illness. He was on Parky or Woss about a year ago looking like he was in the final stages of cancer.
His sitting position at the kit didn’t look that awkward, maybe there’s more to it.

I used to live just up the hill from there, and I’m sorry to report that it was cleared out many years ago. 🙁

Hmm, I was there in 1974, so I guessed it may have been.

There’s not a lot, to be honest. Especially since the OP isn’t all that interested in civil stuff.

There’s the Vulcan at Woodford (which isn’t accessible to the public), I suppose, but apart from that you’d be struggling.

I’d visit the MOSI, then have a good gawp at the nearby Spinningfields redevelopment (is that what you had in mind, old shape?) and then wander into a bar in the Northern Quarter or visit one of the old pubs in Exchange Square.

I was thinking the “Museum” at Woodford, for AVRO stuff. Or the scrapyard at Failsworth if it still has the military A/c there. Or, if the conference is way out in Cheshire then Jodrell Bank is a good day out….but not Aerobits related.
There used to be some WW2 wrecks in the hills up Glossop way too. If the conference is near the Trafford Centre there’s only Barton (No military). Chorlton/Stretford has Hough End fields, the original Airport/drome…..it’s 22 footy pitches now, don’t think there is anything left of the original.
None of the above is as good as the Muze as mentioned.

Is the conference in the City Centre or in the Sticks?
The City itself is worth a walk round. The new architecture is stunning (I know you wanted Aero-stuff)
If in the sticks, there could be other aviation related stuff to see.

If they aren’t a bother, keep.
If they are, kill. As above, they die in the next few weeks anyway.
Wasps, needed by nature by NIMBY. Always exterminate those vicious basads.
Hornets killing Bees….what, as a passtime or just those threatening the exclusion zone of the nest? I thought we were all encouraging Bees this year?
