She flew a great display as has been said by others. I’d certainly say it was the best I’ve seen since her last ‘in-service’ Finningley visit. The spiral climb is a great addition to the routine, and another excuse for a howl! 😀
Very nice. I must get down there to see 655 do her stuff again.
Very nice. As Ben said, a far better show than the line-up suggested.
Bronco and others
Home team AWACS
Nimrod replacement Rivet Joint (boo!) flew a disappointingly high flyby
Grob
The King Air impressed
Really not sure about this year’s Tucano display scheme
They jumped from a perfectly good aeroplane…
The Bronco was a first for me. And I was VERY impressed, hope I get to see this nimble little machine again soon

Hope I haven’t bored you all…
Viper and Vampires
Team Viper first, a great display from a 5 Hunter outfit

My Second favourite Hunter after Miss D

The Norwegians brought 2 Vampires to play. Nice to see a single seater for a change!

Next (and last you’ll be glad to hear!) the best of the rest
Fast Jets
Hawk

Very nice display by the Belgian F16

Next, Vampires and Viper…
My next set of offerings needs no introduction from me…

Is your name there?

558 meets 607
A fantastic display, 2 howls and no rolls beyond 90 degrees, oh no! 😉
Next the fast jets
BBMF and Sally B
2 of my favourites (the Lanc and Sal) at one airshow? Good times!

Note the Chinook in the distance!

Next, a slightly newer Avro product…
Battle of the Display Teams!
The Thunderbirds came to play. I wasn’t mightily impressed to be honest.

I don’t know if the ‘home team’ upped their game given their American visitors, but they flew one of the tightest, most impressive routines I’ve seen from them yet

Home team for me!
Next, the WW2 props
Helicopter time
Some shots of the Apache and Chinook at play. First the Apache

Impressive though it was, the Chinook’s display knocked it in to a cocked hat. Imagine a ballet dancing truck…

Reversing along the runway

Note the rear crew’s giant orange glove!
Next, the Display team Face-off…
To the flyers…
Firstly the props. The YAK

The Jordanian Falcons
And the frankly brilliant Blades

Waddo tomorrow. And the weather forecast looks great! 😀
Waddo tomorrow. And the weather forecast looks great! 😀
looks like a good weekend for it! Apparently 558 is making the short hop from Finningley to Waddo at 3pm today 🙂
Very nice. The p********h of the ‘Rod leading the station flypast out is nice to see, as I only saw this from the road while I was queueing to get in last year 🙁
Why they can’t give the Nimrod the farewell she deserves this weekend is beyond me 😡
