I spend most of my weekends under a V-bomber anyway SH! 😀
I’ll probably have a folding donation extracted from my wallet in the Vulcan Village in exchange for goodies. But ONLY after I’ve heard at least one good howl!

Why would someone in Brussels bury a Fairey Gannet in their back garden?! 😀

Another Cold War jet, some say it’s in the ‘wrong’ colours…

It’d be nice to be able to make more noise than we have so far this year. After all, that’s clearly what the bodies paying to come through the gate come to see. If I had a quid for every time I was asked ‘Is she running today?’ on a Sunday I’d be rich!

No apologies needed, if we can we’ll answer any questions anyone has about YAM’s aircraft. If we can’t we’ll find out the answer for you!
Tony Agar’s Mossie will ground run, once he’s ready and 100% happy with it. It’s his machine, so when it happens is up to him.
The Dak has had it’s engines turned over but not fired as yet. And if everything falls into place the Gannet will also be a runner. The Devon is currently being rebuilt to run/taxi too, and the SE5 replica has I believe successfully run its engine recently.

Nice summary NM and nice shots Ian. Just one thing, I’m not sat lazing around in the shade in the last shot, I’m actually preparing to put the lower nose hatch back on by myself seeing as everyone else was too fragged to give me a hand! 😉
NM don’t forget people from Lancashire never see, and therefore fear, the great Glowing Ball in the Sky! 😀

oh come on…. plenty of things other than those, like Led Zeppelin, The Who, Stone Roses to name a few. 😀

All of the above get my vote! 😀

Back to TG, I think I also favour Captain Slow. Hammond hasn’t been the same since his accident with a jet engined car (right outside my girlfriend’s kitchen window, incidentally).
When they were filming the episode where they raced a letter from (I think) the Scilly Isles to Scotland or some such japery, my sister was on the ferry from the Scillies to the mainland too. Knowing I like the show she tried to get messrs. May and Hammod’s autographs for me. James May took the time to talk to her, and penned a (really tidily written) ‘best wishes’ message to me, even asking the correct spelling of my name. After a bit more of a natter he went off to visit the ferry’s oily bits. My sister then saw Hammond (who up till this meeting she’d had a bit of a thing about) and asked him to sign the same bit of paper. He mumbled something at her, scrawled something unintelligible on the bit of paper, then seeing several other people approaching, shot off without another word…

I have to admit I’m with Sky High on this one. And I can’t help but think the money that’s been pumped into the Olympics could have been used far better elsewhere. Fair play to those who do want to see it, if sport’s your thing I’m sure it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.
But it does nothing for me and I can’t wait for the whole thing to be over and done with. I’m just glad that, living ‘oop North’ in deepest darkest Yorkshire, the effects on my everyday life will be minimal.
