Another bl**dy windscreen for the MG… 😡

I take it you mean this one…

That’s bl**dy close to that Sea Fury prop! 😮

Running piston engine(s), a Hawker fighter and a 5-bladed prop. Think that covers all the bases…!
I’ve always found the Comet at it’s best when left in highly polished bare-metal state!
Fair enough Philip, each to their own 🙂
Bruce, Planemike etc. I’m afraid I do agree with what Johnny Kavanagh says. All Sky High has done is draw the forum’s attention to the fact that this plan has been mooted, and voice his personal opinion that it is a good thing.
I thought that was part of the raison d’etre of an aviation forum, the sharing of news and opinions…
Sad but not unexpected news. I hope the various Vulcan groups after bits off her move fast before its too late… 😮
That is some exhaust pipe!
Brilliant! I hadn’t noticed that! 😀
…and perhaps the Cosford Comet (polished bare metal)
…Eh? Why?!
On the left… Same family, but less shiny…
Don’t think BA had much interest in her, did they? Certainly less than Air France seem to have in theirs.
Sadly not, BA should be ashamed. As long as she’s maintained and kept in good order at the new venue I think it’s a better choice for her in the long term. Certainly better than being wheeled behind a hangar at Heathrow for a date with a JCB in a few years time, which I suspect would be her fate otherwise.
We’ll all just have to wait and see…
Following on from a communications “glitch” I am now back in operation….!
So they’ve put back that phone wire that disappeared from your bit of the world have they?
…Incidentally how’s the ebay-ing of all those genuine bracing wires from Biggles’ Sopwith Camel going?! 😀
To echo Firebex’s sentiments, an aerojumble ‘up north’ would be nice. Even though Newark isn’t all that far away really…
To me this project sounds like a great idea. At least she’d be accessible and actually wanted at the new venue!
Sad to see her leave the spiritual ‘home’ of the BA Concordes though…
I’m hoping that’s it done and dusted with on second attempt Robert! But we’ll see. Do those photos bring back some memories/nightmares?! 🙂
