I do facebook, but that’s it. And I don’t just randomly friend people, the people I speak to on there are genuinely friends.

Dad was always a motorbike man SH, till he met my Mum that is! He’d think nothing of being presented with a couple of tea-chests and being asked to build the Vincent Black Shadow from the bits contained therein. Then my Mum ‘convinced’ him 4 wheels was the way he was going to go. A 109 Series III Landy was the machine he taught me on. It’s still on the road to this day (albeit sadly not in our hands) so we must be doing something right!
It’s something I do as a hobby. I never want to do it as a job, as I’d lose my love for it. This year, seeing as I’ve a (bloody massive) garage to play in, I’m looking to tidy the bits of bodywork that living next to the sea has done no favours to. New screen’s going in on Saturday. There’s always bl**dy something! 🙂

Short version of the story of Blue_2 (the car, not me!) Sky High…
My parents bought “the Blue B” many many moons ago and she was my Mum’s faithful everyday transport to work and back for years. One day she came back complaining of a clonking noise from the rear of the car on cornering. I jacked it up, and the O/S/R wheel stayed on the deck; The spring hanger mounting points had rotted away!
So the Blue B was parked awaiting her fate. These things have a nasty habit of becoming part of the family, and none of us had any wish to scrap her. In the meantime my Dad and I built my Mum a replacement B, a GT LE, out of the shell of an LE and the running gear of my old GT. So we kind of thought, let’s do the same for the blue B.
I was lucky enough to acquire a partly restored late model GT shell in Pageant blue from my pet MG specialist, so one winter about 6/7 years ago all Blue_1’s innards were transferred into Blue_2’s shell.
And the rest is history…! 😀
She works hard for me, being used as parts hauler, everyday car, mobile toolshed, workbench, occasional (rarely now) trackday toy, and is a mix of all the best bits of an early B and the good bits from the late B. A mongrel B maybe to any MG purists, but faithful, well loved, and used for what she was built for.

I’m sure Syd Enever would approve, anyway.

Indeed. The old one was tinwormed beyond belief, this one is however tinworm proof, being ally. It needs a bit of tidying however, and I think it’ll be getting repainted once the couple of minor dings in it are sorted . Back in black to annoy the MG anoraks/purists! :D:D:D
