It will be a tale of woe if the flipping Houchin has been trashed by you uncouth lot 😎

You go away for just 5 minutes……………….

For once it’s no way my fault! I was out of harm’s way on the wing and have witnesses to prove it! :p

    23/01/2011 update

For once it didn’t rain, which was nice!
We had a good turnout with Sven and Victor Sim present; it’s been a while since we filled a table at lunch in the NAAFI. Taking advantage of the dry weather, Rich and I busied ourselves with removing top hatches and replacing the perished, or in one case missing, sealing strips. At some point one of the strips had been augmented by some sort of mastic type sticky mess, which all had to be cleaned off. The ally ridge the seal lives on all had to recieve a serious dose of straightening in places as nearly 50 years had taken its toll, but this was no drama. All the screw fasteners were given a good clean and fresh grease, to make it easier for the next poor sod (probably me!) to remove them in the future. Hopefully this’ll keep the wet out of the wing and the top of the artouste bay for a while now.

While we were busy with this Sven and Victor Sim were busying themselves in the back hatch with the starboard RAT scoop. Unfortunately despite our efforts last year after changing the seal, the scoop stuck halfway back up last time the functionals were carried out. It would appear the chipper has moved a little, so after the Artouste arguement is finished that’s next on the list.
Speaking of the Artouste, apparently the fixings we need have been promised for this week. So a few of us are intending to do overtime on Saturday to finish preparing the bay. If this goes ok we’re hoping to get the Artouste back in on the Sunday and run. Fingers crossed, watch this space…

I took the above photo to prove she’s still actually alive! This was while the PFCU’s were being exercised. We had to steal the Nimrod’s Houchin for this at ours isn’t quite man enough to run the hydraulics. We intended to cycle the flaps, airbrakes etc. too, but it appears the Nimrod Houchin wasn’t up to the job because it kept tripping out. We have been assured by Nimrod Mate that this is down to a ‘fleshy interface error’ on the part of one of our team, and not the ‘Rod’s Houchin’s fault…

I took the above pic a couple of weeks ago but forgot to post it :o, Lindy in a reflective mood.

So next week’s update will either be a tale of joy or woe. Watch this space…

And it seems that you’ve already decided the current woman isn’t working out, so the only thing you need to do is to try and break it to her.

Crap situation, sure, but no sense in staying in it if there’s no chance of improvement….

Totally agree with Daz there. No point staying in a relationship where you’re not happy. I know you’ll work out the best way through this; you ain’t daft.
