…So does ‘the book’ come in ring binder form, with monthly updates being posted out?! :diablo:
Thought H-P was the enemy of all things Avro mate! :p
Proper timewarp shot. Thanks for sharing Steve.
Aye Sven was a good day 🙂
Think Lindy will forgive me being unfaithful?!
The airshow scene was a poorer place without a Vulcan and the loss of her first time round was keenly felt. I think the same would be said and the same loss felt if TVOC had to say ‘that’s all folks’ at the end of next month. Personally, I saw her at Waddington, and a couple of weeks ago when she came to Elvington to see what a proper V-bomber looks like! :diablo:
Despite her predominantly southern ‘theatre of operations’ (for which I understand the reasons) I feel I’ve had good value for money out of her this year, after feeling incredibly short-changed for the last two years.
So I for one will be putting aside my reservations about the white-collar side of the organisation for now and opening the wallet again. I hope sufficient others feel they can do the same to keep her flying.
But please, please can we see an end to the ‘last minute’ approach which seems to prevail? I sometimes wonder if the group in charge of preparations for the Commonwealth Games this year went to the same management school as the Vulcan powers-that-be…
Fair play 109, the rerun made me laugh just as much as the first viewing!

Well it was a wet but good day, well worth the long trip for annual pilgrimage! Good to meet Bumblebee and Mr. Bee, reassuring to know we’re not all figments of each other’s imaginations! Think Benyboy will be posting up some pics, I might put a couple on too when I get chance. 🙂
Looks like a good day Keith. So when are you coming to add ours to your set?! 😀
Well done chaps! Good work. Normal service shall be resumed next Sunday. Benyboy’s even threatening to turn up too…
Damn. And I was so hoping to pick one up at Duxford today. 🙁
Another large slice of quality cheese… 😀
Shall look out for someone being seduced by the large white Flying Boat then! 😉
Insist on looking at the aircraft first. Trust me, you can just nicely fill the day bimbling around the hangars if you get it right. “No time left for looking at the buses now dear? Aww shucks”…
Although one thing does strike me about the bus show. When you go in the road in is swarming with bus spotters noting down fleet numbers, photographing every single one of the bl**dy things, gibbering into the dictaphone etc. Anorak is one of many words that leapt to mind when I first saw this rather sad phenomenon.
Then I realised, that must be exactly how Joe Public percieves the likes of us who use this forum I suppose, only subbing buses for aircraft…
…just remind me never to grow a beard!
Sadly not – my next appointment there is on October 10th. Have a great day, though – you cannot fail not to…….:)
Very true, I look forward to my annual pilgrimage. It’s nice to see what has and hasn’t changed over the course of one year, what aircraft have come and gone, what restoration progress there is, etc.
Particularly looking forward to seeing the Blenheim again, see how the rebuild’s progressing.
They best not leave the Victor unattended for too long though…!
May see some of you there tomorrow then… 🙂
Ben I have one word for you. BATTERIES :diablo:
Anyone need a wind machine? :diablo:
