It was quite a special moment to be stood on our Victor a couple of weeks ago watching the Vulcan. One I doubt I’ll ever forget.

Just park it up at Coventry for the winter,
perfect for the new theme the airport as set up,

an open airfield with all it needs Central for flights around the UK.

Open to the public to view and central with good road networks for public acesse, also a short drive from the Main TVOC offices.

No brainer really the place is perfect for 558,could even be a spare space in one of the hangars,
Being on the doorstep of a major city.

…Isn’t the runway a teeny bit short? Surely it’d mean deploying the ‘chute every time?

I would think that an ideal place for the Vulcan would be ground running and fast taxi displays when she can no longer fly alongside Lusty Lindy (the victor) at Elvington tons of space and well in excess of 1 mile of runway.Who else has that much space to land and display her on ?.

No arguements from this quarter! And a hangar would be lovely. But so would a winning lottery ticket…

As Ben says, given the size of the ship the rudder’s small. Rendered more ineffective by the ‘Full astern’ order…

I know many lives were lost, and the whole Titanic story/tragedy has always intrigued me. Please don’t think i’m being disrespectful to the dead but with the discussion about steering confusion i can’t help but think of The Navy Lark’s Mr. Phillips; left hand down a bit…

That’s how we’re getting there- my local bus company, East Yorkshire, take a bus every year as some of their drivers are involved in old buses. Not my thing really to be honest. It’s simply the cheapest and easiest way to get there from my patch; the whole trip’s for less than the petrol one way would be by car! 😎

Anyway I’ll be blatantly obvious, probably wearing my bright red Victor XL231 t-shirt. And probably being followed around by a blonde dwarfy bloke with a camera, hoping to get a photo of me looking at a bus for bribery purposes 😉
