109- Apparently the bloke built it because he wanted to and he could. Fair play to him. Was dismantled to appear in the static at some little fly in down south, RIAT iirc. Ditto the Hurricane. 109 is about to be bolted back together. Also if anyone’s interested the pink Buccaneer’s getting a repaint…
Mossie- Mr Agar is still plugging away with her, from speaking to him she’s not all that far off…
As to the Halifax issue, all I’ll say is that iirc 536’s outer wings were too corroded to use but the centre section was ok. If you’ve ever seen the faces of the veterans who’ve come to see their old warhorse after nearly 70 years you’d know it was a well worthwhile project. For this reason alone I won’t have a bad word said about it from those who choose to knock the efforts to resurrect what was at the time an extinct species.
And yes the Victor (and the Nimrod) gets lots of love and tlc. It may be chucking it down but I’ll soon be heading across to get my weekly ‘fix’… 🙂
