Nimrod Mate’s your man to answer that Rich, once he’s had chance to do an inventory for himself. Yours has been raided too, well they all have according to the member of the pillaging team I was speaking to yesterday.
No jest. There’s much consternation among the Victor crew about just how much is coming off the Maid… 🙁
… Funnily that very phrase was uttered several times yesterday mate!
Quiet day today really. The electrical fault with the Artouste is still being a pain to diagnose, we aren’t rushing headlong into dropping the Artouste until its 100% certain that’s where the fault lies. So there was much chasing of wires by Rick and John, as well as cursing!
We did have the pleasure of XH558’s company for a few all too brief minutes this afternoon- wow! Thanks to all who made this possible 🙂
Heads up- If anyone’s planning to visit YAM anytime soon, unless plans change next Sunday would be a good time because we should be running up the engines on the big jets. Assuming after the MOD raiding party’s done there’s any Nimrod left that is….
Being stood on top of our Victor watching the Vulcan when she came to say hello made me smile today 😀

Yak of some sort over Elvington. Oh and XH558… 😀
… Until then we should just applaud what the guys there did achieve (which given some of the informed opinion of ex-lightning types on here, but discounting the armchair gloaters is quite frankly amazing) , and hope that the aircraft and the guys who looked after them all get to move on to secure futures.
Well said Rich. As aviation enthusiasts we should be applauding the guys down there for keeping these awesome machines alive thus far. Still, while the doomsters are kicking TC, a touch distateful in my humble opinion, at least they’re leaving the Vulcan alone…
Benyboy’s tale of woe regarding his inability to dress himself has just made me laugh. Followed closely by his slightly implausible justification…:D

I like! 😀
Why? there are already 4 taxiiable ones and one airworthy albeit grounded for now one in the country. Do we really need more of them?
One can never have too many live Buccaneers! Specially if someone were able to keep it airworthy over here…
Would be nice if one of the Buccs made its way back to these shores…
A bit of sunshine to replace the recent gloom then?
Aye, reckon so Mike 🙂
