It may or may not be authentic, nobody I’ve spoken to remembers them ever being that shade. It’s not to my personal taste (for what that matters), but at least its got paint on to hopefully keep the elements at bay. And it doesn’t change the amazing sound she makes at full chat!

I’d maybe extend that to visit as many aviation museums as possible, see what ideas and inspiration can be gleaned from seeing ‘how others do it’.

Again just going off MG there’s another switch on the gearbox which stops the o/d being accidentally operated in reverse. That switch on my old MG went haywire once and stopped the o/d working. Another possibility, if your Jag has one…?
