    Good day’s fettling again, Steve (Sven) spent a good amount of time cleaning that RAT up. A messy and not fun job well done. Benyboy turned out to be a thoroughly pleasant and quite useful chap too. For a dwarf that is… :diablo:. And the all-important bolt re-appeared 🙂

    Hyundai Accent (voted “Worst car of the Year” by Top Gear in 2004! :D).

    Last year, before Christmas, the brakes felt spongy, then went altogether – just when we started getting all that heavy snow! Turns out it was a severed brake pipe, which was probably caused by a chunk of ice that I drove over.

    They were fine yesterday but I noticed today that they were very unresponsive – I practically had my foot on the floor before they seemed to bite.

    Joy of joys…!

    Before you move it tomorrow look underneath, see if there’s a puddle of dot4. If there is, you can locate the leak. If you’re lucky it might be a seal in a rear cylinder, or seals in the master cylinder showing their age, rather than another pipe.

    Sounds really crap mate, sorry to hear that. It’s like the ball’s in her court, and she hasn’t got a clue what to do with it…:(
