No, I have nothing like his photographic skills! 😀

Haggled successfully for a visit that weekend with she-who-thinks-she-must-be-obeyed as it’s the weekend after my birthday, so NAM and the Hobgoblin pub beckon for the weekend 🙂

Was more thinking that the floor angle would add to the entertainment after a few sherbets! 😀

Curses! Not much use without an alcamafrol licence though- perhaps with the angle of the floor the Hastings would make an ideal licensed premises for NAM though…:D

I like the yellow, but think the other scheme above looks quite good too. But as long as it’s flying it doesn’t matter to me what colour it is! Sadsack’s post reminds me of the legend of the C47 owner in the U.S I believe being harangued by the airshow-goer about the choice of colour scheme of his aircraft. He eventually tired of this and turned round to the pleb and said “so what colour’s YOUR C47 then?” which shut him up. Don’t know if its true or just airshow myth, but it still makes me chuckle 😀

Now the financial threat had receded a tad… there does need to be serious action re the management- if Pleming is still leaving that might be a start, and a management team who’ll take heed of the likes of what MancFrank and many others are thinking/saying will hopefully be found to run the project in a way the supporters, the ground- and aircrews, and the historic airframe that is 558, deserve. Instead of lurching from disaster to disaster in the way we’ve had to become accustomed to.

I was hopeful but pessimistic (blame me Yorkshire blood!); that way the only surprises can be pleasant ones! 🙂

    Kev35:
“Is the project surviving because of the management? Or in spite of them?”

My answer would be it’s surviving in spite of the management, and because of the (increasingly frayed) goodwill of Vulcan supporters.

Yep I understand that bubbles, and I understood that on the day. I saw the poor ******s out there getting drenched doing their level best to fix it, given the circumstances Mr. Thomas and crew put on the best show they could. Don’t make the mistake of thinking I’m knocking anyone for what happened that day, far from it.

That fast taxy run was awesome with the spray and black sky- I was lucky in that I was close to the start end of the runway. They couldn’t fly (a failed alternator IIRC) but Hell, they did the next best thing 🙂

And I was able to get a couple of nice shots of 558 passing 607; 2 Vulcans together =:D

Hopefully this year I’ll have chance to repeat that, thanks to a generous individual. Whoever you are, I salute you.
