WOW!!!
That is spectacular!
Thanks for posting.

This shed constructed from the Radome of a Vulcan is ACE! I want one!
Wouldnt it be fantastic if it was rigged up to be a fully powered up sim?
Question: I wonder how they practised acceptable crew egress drill for the 558 Project in the light of not knowing where your Crew Drill Trainer was?
It would be lovely to see it alongside the nose section of XM602 at Brunty and have 2 together? Pity there is no radome but they can crop up on Ebay and elsewhere but it must make it easier to transport anyway.
These are great photos! I didnt realise it was such an unusual frame, and as you said it is rather spindly. I can see what you meant about the cut out on the starboard side as there is clearly a gantry for the rear crew to jump out onto when practising their escape.
I can understand why you had to lose the frame in order to get the section low enough on the car jig so that it cleared the doors of your storage facility it must have been quite a juggling act!
welcome to the forum. I hope you find some answers relating to your question. Good luck.

My Dad 1950 Baginton in Tiger Moth (Hotel Oscar?) Judy I think the other was called May?
With some interesting buildings in the background!
Just a little snippet of info for you. In the late 40’s early 50’s my Dad flew one of the Tiger Moths in the evenings from Baginton. He told me many fascinating things, he remembered them taxying early jets across the grass, and on one occasion (his usual instructor was away) he was instructed by Bill Else (noted test pilot)
I am in the process of finding a period photo of my Dad in one of the Moths with some buildings on that may interest you. Bear with me!
Sidcot Suit? Highly desireable! Popular with Collectors and Living History Groups.
My Dad was given one by a Polish bomber pilot (Dad was an Automobile Engineer and used to repair their cars and became good friends with them)
Dad used it in the late 1940’s early 50’s whilst flying the Tiger Moth from Coventry Aerodrome, he always regretted leaving it behind!
Yes! my old Parson Jack Russell Terrier (I lost him 9 years ago and the hole in my heart is still there!!) used to love a game of ball! He would throw it back and keep up the volley!
Harry looks so cuddly, soft and warm.

How about forming a FAN CLUB!
Cockpitfest 2011! Can’t wait! We shall be there in our usual place under the Jetstream (if possible please?)
Also, members from our Post War RAF Living History Group “INTO THIN AIR” will be appearing at different times of the day dressed in period flight kit to add atmosphere to this unique event!
How many Vulcan Crew Drill Trainers were actually produced?
