I have to say that I remember this aircraft well when at Southend and at Southend’s Museum, but it is a horrendous shame, that it has been left in such a state, only for the cockpit to be saved from the scrap dealers.

Well done to Anon for his efforts and in acquiring the cockpit, but I cant help but wonder over the last few years how it was left to deterate so badly. 🙁

I know there will be comments regarding funding, money, credit crunch etc, but this was an unique Anson, not just another common airframe.

Tomorrow the new terminal has it’s dummy run with volunteer “passengers” testing everything from check in desks to toilets.

My 10 year old is off there with his case in the morning. I’ll keep his passport at home. 😀

Southend Airport was closed for a short time this morning after protesters cained themselfs to the fance whilst other broke on to the runway and attempted to set up solar pannels, they then planned to to dance round dressed as pilots to Britty Spears “toxic”

Sixteen people from Plane Stupid & Climate Rush have been arrested, non flights were effected bythe protest.

Here they got in via the footpath behind the church.

I gather SEN are trying to have it diverted, which would be a shame for us lot, but with the idiots from the appropriately named “Plane Stupid” having nothing but a few hundred meters of tarmac between them and the active, something does needs to be done.

For those unfamiliar with this area at SEN, here`s my 9 year old, quite legally standing in the middle of the taxiway, albeit with an ill fitting jumper :/
