Well, the RRJ is a very modern product out of Russia but it needs to be understood now that Russian aircrafts will never have that sale value. The TU 204 was again a very modern commercial airliner but is hardly a success, if i remember correctly the only “western” carrier to operate it was DHL.

I strongly believe that now, Russian aircrafts carry a taboo with them, because of the industries general safety record of the past. The RRJ has been seen as a good aircraft, for example India’s Jet Airways actually contemplated the RRJ for its fleet some time back, but did not go ahead with it fearing passenger reprival to travel on the RRJ. It was the first time i have seen personaly an airline taking such a decision.

What the hell Shilpa Shetty was thinking when she signed on for this is way beyond me. Big Brother is the biggest piece of trash that has ever been broadcasted on television. It features either fame’d industry rejects and loosers just in general, its only the money that attracted her.

Either way, be it what racism is something that is a very touchy subject, at least here, in India where migration to other countries is at its peak (we have run out of land..sorry).

The “racism” aspect was expected from the show even before it started, i dont know what the huss is all about. Channel 4 although lost the sponsorship, but still got some pretty high TRP ratings because of this. I dont even know why such trash is aired on TV, and how can people actually watch it.

In the next 20 years airliner design will be driven by environmental impact over anything else. How this works when a carbon airliner catches fire I’m not sure…..

The A320 replacement is shaping up….and may hold a surprise or 2 in configuration aimed at increasing versatility.

The GTF will make a big impact on the scene, and may well be looked at for much larger engines.

Agree with this thought bank mostly. Enviornmental impact will play a major role in the next few years. Specially in Europe seeing how the EU is out to cut green house emissions. India and China will become worlds biggest aviation markets, with “people carriers” taking dhape and breaking even very quickly.

Airlines such as Oasis will become majour success stories… AND i do not see aviation technology and advancement in it taking any major leaps as such for at least he next 10 years.

Not that I’m aware of. AFAIK the A320 doesn’t have the range for it anyhow, less they were talking about this A320 “enhanced” which `Loudmouth`- Leahy was promising to be the best thing since sliced bread. But has now, as per usual, been shown up with the failure of the winglet program from which the A320 “E” was supposed derive its extra range from.

I am not too sure but i definately heard JetBlue trying to go that way. Ah well.:rolleyes:
