Think some concrete fuselage moulds were found as well.
Yep thats pretty much it.Not only QAM not given the opportunity but never was any other Australian Museum. It was all hush hush until it happened.Apparently a Politician ended up with a Helicopter for some reason.
Think the BoB Merlins are computer data logged as well..They will get down to the problem pretty quickly.
Aaahhh sorry my bad…..
Oakey Airfield is still the Army Aviation Base…The old Museum site was just outside the fence before they built the new museum in the 2000,s and they moved everything inside the fence.Well before my time there.
Oakey before then was always a shopping trip for Spitfire collectors.
Lz844 came from QAM Caloundra where it was displayed for many years where they cut off a very rare Barracuda prop blade to fit it inside the container..
Very little pictures in them and the numbers themselves deal with internal Supermarine parts..Best is to get the Swedish MkXIX manual.
Least they are doing it the right way…
The Uk Governments push towards Missiles was a greater cut for the TSR2 than anything what the other countries were doing.
Probably some CAD work going into reverse engineering the Sabre.
Lovely work 🙂
Clive “Killer” Caldwell had the same reputation….
Well Junkers are making new planes using turbine engines with its corrugated skin system.Everything old is new again.
Simply Spitfire are getting close to finishing their MkII static build. In paint shop at moment finishing the wings.
Fit it out with replica static parts and put it in a museum?
