Yeah, anyone see the nighttime ninja attack on the samurai in The Last Samurai? Horrible film, but that part was good.
Is that the most number of guns mounted on any one plane?
A better question is, how long before the USAF makes actual Transformers?
Google,
No Google, it has 32 missiles per unit of Kashtan-M, check this figures out from KBPâs site , or did i read it wrong? –
The article said 32, so I presume they mean that each Kashtan unit only carries one set of reloads.
Bleh, me too, 10000 points.
So what’s going on with the Hawk deal? DId that fall through, or are they still negotiating?
Klingsor,
Actually it was an SA-3 that got that F-117, and it was rather a luck-shot more than anything else. The “Goa” operators didn’t have a full-on lock when they fired the weapon. The reason they got the jet was because NATO had been using predictable flight paths (one of the big lessons they learned from Allied Force of what not to do), so it was only a matter of time before something was knocked down.
And how do you know that? đ Did the Goa operators tell you?
Anyhow, I agree that the F-15s do have a lot of life left in them, and are still vastly superior to anything that any other country can field. Unfortunately, the F-22 program is taking away money from the F-15 PAR and F-16 upgrades.
Uprated Larzac thrust: 3,745-lb
AL-55 thrust: 4,845-lbA thousand “extra” pounds of thrust, at around similar SFC, for a light trainer means that the rookies will have more thrust to get them out of mistakes and provides a larger safety margin.
Also, is that potential extra thrust really necessary? The IAF will have the AJT for those extra tricks, no?
The maintenance will be performed after the upgrades are done; no one’s going to be flying the pigs while they’re getting upgraded anyhow.
Do you mean fastest with a full payload?
I’ve been wondering the status of the Ninja as well.
Good call on a thread Ja.
Isn’t it supposed to carry some type of indigenous AAM?
Are they called shurikens? đ
How badly does the IAF need the Kirans to be replaced? Like Indian said, how many more safe years can they get out of them?
No such mention of discussion boards for Jane’s articles though, đ

Since the engine hasn’t even been developed yet, those numbers are liable to change.
You might want to be careful- AW&ST specifically mentions that its articles are not to be posted on discussion boards, and I’m certain their authors visit this board.
