Hasn’t this got something to do with the King anyway, something to do with the PM trying to take too much power or something. Only caught a little on TV but there doesn’t seem to be any opposition from the police or other army units

How about movies we would like to see remakes of, such as Top Gun…but this time with real Mig-29 aircraft (either from a NATO member or CGI) or maybe Jaws with a CGI great white instead of a clumsy looking robot?
The remake of “The Fog” is pretty good, as is the BSG series and the new “Amityvile” horror. Haven’t seen the remake of “The Omen” but it looked good.
Some of the upcoming movies such as “Abominable” (it’s a horror about the Yeti) look lame and begs the question ‘Is Hollywood running out of ideas’….as for the remake of “The Dam Busters”…please, please, please don’t say Hollywood is gonna make out that a Yank was behind it all 🙁

Possibly the same thing the US wants it’s fleet of LCAC’s for Sferrin, you do know that there are other users of the Zubr such as Greece right? What does Greece want with the Zubr, is it planning world domination because it buys a few hovercraft for it’s navy???
There were rumours Angola had acquired a couple of Fencers back in the late nineties, but it just doesn’t look right! Look at the nose, the whole area from the leading edges of the wings to the tip of the nose looks like a bloody great big Flogger (yes I know it’s too big to big a Flogger btw) so what is it???
Ok stupid question and sorry if it’s been brought up before but how the hell can someone say something is invulnerable, then go on to say that some were destroyed??? Doesn’t that therefore mean that it IS vulnerable??????
The Abrams and Challenger 2 are not these invincible machines of war that can’t be destroyed, and if we go to war against a properly equipped nation like China or Russia with that mentality we will be in for an awful shock!!!
Chobham is old and I’m sure Russian and Chinese weapons manufacturers have developed weapons capable of taking them out with ease, and I’m sure any of the weapons on a Havoc/Night Hunter would cut them to pieces.
Jesus we go to war against an army with ancient T-55’s and “Monkey Model” T-72’s (the export downgraded variant), and think because we destroyed old 30-40 year old tanks the Abrams and Challenger 2 can walk over anything.
Put them both up against the latest T-90 or ZTZ-99 and then we’ll see…
Good points SOC, but if the JH-7 isn’t indigenous what is it based on??? Thought the Flounder/Flying Leopard (please God, if you’re up there tell the NATO planners to think of better names than Flounder…geez!!!) was 100% Chinese 😮
It does look kinda like an Su-24, but there is something strange about the nose section. It looks slimmer and longer than an Su-24, maybe it’s just me. Good find, interested to find out if it is a Fencer 🙂
I wouldn’t say they’re on low wages, don’t forget the fact that a lot of these people work for what we see as £40-50 per week or even per month, but that would translate as about the average wage in Britain, maybe a little less, in terms of living expense.
I agree with “Bring it on” in the sense that China will have the experience and know how to produce serious hardware in a few years, maybe in the next decade the US will no longer be seen as the world’s best weapon producer. It’s just amazing that with the amount of modernization going on in all three services that a nation can afford to do it in such vast quantity at the same time without sacrificing something
and let’s not forget it will p*** off the scale modelling community
Wait a minute, didn’t a couple of Hind models have trainable turrets in place of the side mounted cannons (I believe it was the Hind-D). I believe there were problems with the accuracy of the sighting system so they went back to the fixed cannons. See the Ukrainian bird below:
There were a few rumours and reports of chopper vs. chopper engagements between Cobras and Hinds during the Iran/Iraq war. In the one “major” engagement…(if you can call 4 choppers a major engagement) two Iranian Cobras ambushed two Iraqi Hinds and both Hinds were lost…however despite the Iranian victory it must be noted that the ambush was pre-planned in response to a previous battle in which an Iraq Hind downed a Cobra with it’s cannons.
Can anyone shed some light on this (believe it was between ’86 and ’88)
It was just a rumour Sealord, there were various claims in old books that the Kunsan could fire nuke and chemical warheads, if the tech to do this is not available in North Korea then fair enough. Still the ability of these artillery pieces to fire chemical weapons which I believe the KPA does have still makes them a serious threat to the South.
What’s the Tigercat…never heard of it
