Halifax LW170 before she slipped beneaht the waves. If Karl Kjarsgaard gets his way she will be going the other direction (meaning upward from the bottom) and hopefully restored, photo from 57Rescue Canada
Fingers crossed.

As I mentioned before, in the Netherlands we do not have a full size original Fokker G1 left , although there are plans underway to reconstruct one but first the drawings will have to be reconstructed in a similar fashion as the Stirling Project.
We have a FSM on show at Soesterberg which was made by a furniture factory during 1985 and it looks great with even the engines looking very real although they are fake, but very detailed. Here are some pics by Michiel Mans

I knew Airfix will produce a 1/24 Mosquito this year but didn’t know they finished it that fast:D

Bruce,
Great to see the old girl wearing a pair of wings again.
By co-incidence, last saturday I looked at one of her undercarriage legs that is on display in our museum. During her stay at the TU Delft one of the oleo’s was partially cut away to expose the rubber blocks. It’s still in excellent condition.

Thanks Jon,
I hope this pic was taken years ago and not yesterday?
What kind of progress has been achieved so far/

The HP Association is still around with Harry Fraser Mitchell doing a fine job by writing articles in flypast and aeroplane about HP’s finest. A great source of help they are too. The history of PN323 is well known but it would be great to see some pics of her taken during her trials years or languishing at Radlett before unceremoniously scrapped, other than Mark12’s pics are they any others around?

It looks to be in quite decent condition considering it came from not so fresh water.
Hope they take it inside and start restoring it.

So the remains of the cockpit that are left and being restored at the moment consist only of the tubular construction as shown in the previous post?
Not much is it? But it’s a start at least.

Hi Martin,
In the UK they are I reckon, over here there are still some left but it’s getting more difficult, the last recovery we did ourselves was in 2003. Since then we have been present during offical RNethAF digs where we assisted but nothing major. I am investigating a Fokker G1 site, now that would be something.

Peter,
Yes, I understand but if locals can strip her than it can be accessed. That York is only the third survivor and really needs to be rescued fast.

Let’s not talk about the fate of W1048 again, that has been done to death many times here, use the search function and you know what I mean.:)
Thanks G-ORDY info from the horses mouth would be great.

Scorpion,
That’s fantastic, that’s exactly what I meant with this thread. WHat’s the story behind your visit there?
Any more?
