Hi Nils,
Very interesting project you have on your hands. Is that the site where human remains were found as well?
How do you handle this in Germany?

Thanks Papa,
Will do that when I get home.

Hi Papa,
Yes, that would be great, you can also wrap the seat up and send it to me:cool::eek: Oops sorry where are my manners;)
Seriously, If I can help with information just let me know.
Pics and measurements will be a great help.

Wonder if the wings would turn up at one point.

Hi Jim,
Well, the width of the fuselage was limited otherwise the narrow passage towards the nose was blocked, which wasn’t very desirable in wartime.
The R1155 indeed stood on its end but so was the Hampden installation.
Over 6.000 Halifaxes were built to prove the the set-up I think.
If you walk through the cockpit of PN323 at Lambeth you can experience
how restricted the passage is.

Hi Cees!
Ask and ye shall receive!
See here: http://www.planesandchoppers.com/picture/number7566.asp
(I used up my photo quota on this site long ago! The above site has over 600 of my aircraft photos on it, by the way, most with extensive captions.)
Hi Dad:D
Thanks for the pic, I would kill to have that seat in my cockpit project.
By the way,it’s not the pilot’s seat but the collapsible seat for the Second Pilot (if in use as second dickey) or flight engineer. I do have one bad drawing for it (heavy sigh)

Did my French friend contact you about the Halifax bits?
Hi Andy,
Yes, we talked about for an hour but he cannot help with cockpit parts unfortunately.

Any pics of the seat or the display?
You know I am curious about this;)

Hi Dave,
Off topic
The Vulture I am referring to is located (at least it was ten years ago) in a small museum near Uithuizen in Groningen to the very north of the Netherlands close to the German border. It was excavated from a Manchester crash.
Our Vulture is not worth the descripton being only a very corroded crankcase (similar to our Sabre) with the engine cilinders sticking out and remains of the mounting.
Back to Sabres, bring out those beasties unknown to us all. Kermit Weeks has three to choose from, is that correct?

What’s the story about the dissapearing wings? Don’t have the book (yet).

RR Vulture at Cosford?
Could be another thread:)
I know one in very complete condition with propeller still attached, guess where?
Cees
Soon in FlyPast if EHVB does his homework (I did that for him come to think of it:diablo::D)
Things are progressing very well but the cat stays in the bag for now.
This is a good way to find out what’s the current status of that have survived.
Next RR Vulture, RR R perhaps?
Cheers

Seriously Dave I had you in mind putting up this thread.
So get on with it:diablo:
And while you’r at it, can you show us some nics pics of Tiffie bits?

Are DC-3 blades similar?
Cees
Not Halifax, or they must have been cut in half. Size looks to be too large too.
