Not the best of images, but taken from a tiny 620 contact print is this view of DH89 Rapide ZK-ACO (Race Number ’60’) during the Singapore refueling stop. The aircraft was entered by the New Zealand Centenary Committee. I just love the clothes!
Seek…. and ye shall find!
That’s what we fought long and hard to try and achieve when we created EAAS and worked with Cambs CC and the IWM – all for nothing I’m afraid!
I wouldn’t bet on anything if i were you. the injection of cash was to pay the staffs wages so that pledges can be called in, tell you summat it’s the constant comments such as yours that spur people on to make sure she flys.
i really cannot understand why some on here are so bitter! honestly let it go before you give yourself an ulcer!
Well… time will tell, but as SC 034 says – after what has happened, I would have thought that it should be guarenteed for 2009, not just looking good.
I would LOVE to be proved wrong, but then, I had my injection of realism and cynicism inserted years ago!
So how long until the next plea for cash?
Well…. lets see…. with this line….
Indeed she has been saved, the pledge campaign worked and thanks to aerobytes and Judd Power who have provided the cash to fund wages next month the project continues.
my money is on about a months time!
Or the Beardmore Inflexible, or the Broughton-Blayney Brawney, or the Hendy Heck??
Two pics of the Brawny – yours for £195!
Phleming took his payday?
will these do?
Is it right what I hear now they looking for another 2 mill?
For sure some or much of the current photo-fest will drop way in the days and weeks ahead.

Lets see…. 2000 DH twin images…. 3000+ large-format images…. 3 at a time…. and that’s without all the WW2 USAAF stuff… hmmm…I wonder who will get bored first? 🙂
They are yours!!!
Will these do?
See what you make to these three – again, large-format publicity shots that were retrieved from a dumpster!
(want some Hastings and Hermes picts – no problem – what about Dan Bristol Freighters, Autair Vikings and Court Line L1011 builds?)
Over the years we have collected many large-format trannies (5×4 or larger) and often air-to-air that either never seen the light of day for whatever reason or have all the backgrounds cropped out of them which completely ‘destroys’ the photographers original intentions.
At the risk of creating yet another ‘pictures of’ file or stirring up the debate even more, I provide these three as a sample!
The Autair Ambi came from the files of the late Bill Armstrong, owner and founder of Autair, the Dan-Air Ambi from the late Arthur Larkman, and the Seamaster – believe it or not – from a rubbish skip!
Three pics of Dan aircraft, taken from Captain Arthur Larkman’s book Dan-Air an airline and it’s people we just published.
I’ve also tagged in a pair of Arthur doing slush test trials at Thurleigh with an Ambi following the Munich Air Disaster.
