TFC Sea Fury taken this morning
No photographic merit but up to the minute:
I was advised earlier this year that John Romain would soon be undertaking flight testing of the 109 for Ed Russell. This was a few months ago so it may be outdated intelligence.

John Bradshaw’s at Legends 2004:
Mark – many thanks for this link. Truly awesome footage of some very special flying.
Woody
Fantastic, Paul. Thanks for sharing the vid.
Woody
I really enjoyed visiting the site, Dave, and I will return to it in the future.
Hard work well spent.
Woody
Erm…….airworthy: Spitfire
Including soon to be airworthy: Tempest II
Any: Tempest V
Woody
It was a real shame she didn’t fly at FL04. She was a welcome addition to the flightline, and immaculately presented.
Woody
Is that a Fury in the background?
Yep its the ex Hendon Sea Fury.
Woody
Does the Champlin FW 190D count? If so, its my choice.
Otherwise Fifi, Glacier Girl, ME262 replica, LSFM A20 Havoc (again if airworthy but now flown counts), Ed Russell’s ME109 or the Seafire 47 would do very nicely thanks very much.

Been to Hanger 2 at Duxford twice this week (Sunday and today) and there appears to be a significant amount of work being undertaken on Princess Elizabeth, now resplendent in D Day stripes. Will she take to the air for Legends……………?
Woody
PS Off-thread, but some of you may be interested to learn that there was a small army working on the BBMF Hurricane today.
Several Air Forces, including the RAF, still today have airworthy Spitfires ‘on charge’ operating under full military administration and not civil registered.
Mark
Mark – Please would you advise which air forces, apart from the RAF, operate Spitfires today? It must be a real mark of respect that they are preserved at public expense outside their native land.
Woody
Speculation
PS I saw some very interesting things in Ezell’s hanger that I’m not allowed to
talk about. Maybe Ashley will comment on that little project that his dad
is working on
Personally my fingers are crossed that it might involve a Tempest II; particularly given the cracking job on the Seafire.
Woody
Hmm… I wonder whether anyone can identify this.
Aeroplane and bird type please.
Grumpy, and I’d guess at pigeon.
I will miss Grumpy when she goes Stateside.
Woody 🙁
The headrests were standard fit on the early marks but phased out later (ecconomy?).
Rear visibility?
