She came over Southend about 10ish I think.
Not got a clue but have you contacted The Aircraft Restoration Company at Duxford the have a flyer so might be able to help you out a bit more.
Thats onr thing that really P!sses me off
people who move next to or close to an airport or airfield then complain about the noise.
I’d love to live backing on to an airport, one of the best complaints I have heard was regarding Southend Airport,It was about 5 years ago but it was something like:
A couple of OAPs were having a rant about Southend Airport, when they were asked when they moved in to thier house 10years ago was the reply to which they were asked why did you move next to the airport you must have known it was there,
they replyed yes of cause we knew it was there but if we knew they were going to invent jets we would never have moved in as it was only props then…
at this point they had to call an ambualnce for me as I lay on the floor splitting my sides laughing.
Another thing that get to me is the people who complain about aircraft passing over thier homes then they go off to another airport ond fly off them selfs,
when ever you ask one of these if they fly to go on holidsay they change the subject or walk off trust me go and try it!
Had the yellow nose Corsair come over Southend today very nice.
very sad news 🙁
Never been was think of going this year utill I saw the proce of the train from Southend £48!
Do the aircraft fly over the pier or past the pier head?
if the pier is open to the public and the aircraft pass over it then the show could be in trubble as the displaying aircraft must remain a set distance from any structure or person
Aircraft operating a less than 100kts
Fly past 50 meters
Aerobatics 100 meters
V/stol 150 meters
Aircraft operating between 100 – 200 kts
Fly past 100 meters
Aerobatics 150 Meters
V/stol 150 Meters
Aircraft operating Between 200-300 Kts
Fly past 150 Meters
Aerobatics 200 Meters
V/Stol150 Meters
Aircrat operating over 300 kts
Fly past 200 Meters
Aerobatics 230 Meters
V/Stol 150 Meters
Then addon the length of the pier which is 720ft or 218meters.
As I said above if they pass over the pier during thier display slots and people are on it then the show would infringe the safey regulations set down by the CAA.

There is a chance to view the Southend Mulberry from the “other side” later this year from on board the Waverley paddle steamer from Southend Pier, Tilbery or Tower Pier in London.
the trip is on Sunday 2nd October
10:00am Tower Pier rtn 8:15pm £33
1:30pm from Southend rtn 4:45 £16.95
The trip also takes in the Thames Forts depending on weather depends on how far out you go last year it was very windy very wet so we were only able to get to the Red Sands forts (8miles off Sheppy) before we had to turn round and go down the Medway passing the wreck of the Richard Montgomery.
The previous year we were able to get out as far as Knock John 12 miles off Herne Bay.

Red Sands Fort

Close up

Richard Montgomery

Yes you do get close to her…nobody fart.
The Mullberry harbour was designed by J D Bernal, it was made from hollow concrete sections called Cassions,
There are a number of sections in the Mullberry:
Section 1: Gooseberry, this was a breakwater and consited of some 60 allied ships deliberatly scuttled in selected positions these where known as Blockships.
Section 2: The Harbour, 150 re-enforced floting concrette blocks known as Pheonix Cassion’s the largest of which was some 80ft long 60ft high, these were towed accross the English Channel at 5mph these were able to be sunk and then re-floated, the the run-up to the invasion they were kept in the sunk position to stop enemy spy aircrat from seeing what was going on.
Section 3: Spuds these were the head of the Mullbery, in essence a floating wharf that would rise and fall with the tide, this was achived by anchoring the four steel legs on the sea bed, they were some 200ftlong and 60ft wide.
Section 4: Whales this was the roadway from the Spuds to the shoreand consisted of steel pontoons .
All secions of the “B” Mullbery were in place by Dplus12 (12 Days after D-Day)
On the night of 19th June 1944 with both the American “A” Mullberry off Saint-Laurent at Omaha Beach and the British “B” Mullbery in operation at Arromanche Gold Beach a violent storm hit the two sites, the British Mullberry sufferd considrable damage but was still operationalble, whilst the American Mullbery had only just been half completed the blockships where torn from thier anchor points and sunk, the Cassions where swept on to the shore, the roadway was destroyed and the giant whalfs that were mid channel were sunk with noway of reteving them. The site was declaied a write-off and abbandond, all salvageable parts were re-directed to the British Mullbery.
The British Mullbery remained in service for a further 10 monts taking ashore 2.5 million men, 500,000 vehicles, 4million tons of supplys.
Whats Left:
As you can see from Moggys photo the Arromanches site is still fairly complete, whilst at Sanit-Laurent many of the section were removed and bought back to the UK for breaking, a few sections remain under the water as dose on of the block ships laying accross a Cassion and the beached sections also surrive.
Here in the UK a number of unused sections remain.
Aldwick, West Sussesx
One section visable at low tide
Bognor Regis, West Sussex
Known as “far or outer mullbery” a single section lays in deep water it is not visable and has been very badly broken up by RAF gunners
Corlistton harbour, Dumffries & Galoway, Scotland
One Section
Hayling island, Hampshire
A section remains in the nature reserve
Littlehampton
9 miles off shore a section lays broken in to a number of pieces.
Pagham, West Sussex
Known as “inner mulberry” visable at low tide
Phargmites Salt Mash (Thames estuary) Woolich, London
Un-used parts reported
Portland
Two complete sections
Southend-on-Sea, Essex
One section back broken visable at all times*
Wingtown Bay, Isle of Whithorn
Construction & test tower
*NOTE: Under threat from demolition from the MoD it is possible to walk out on the mud flats to the Southend section but I very very strongly advise you NOT to do so the tides at Southend come in at right angles to the beach and there is a 100% risk of getring cut off.
SO DONT DO IT!
Thanks
I’ve got the following:
Hawk
Harrier
Tutor
Spitfire
Hondas
This is not meant to sound cold but Fireflys and Casa.He111 there are a few arround so yes they should fly at least one example.
Spitfires, Mustangs, Corsair etc plenty to keep flying them.
The Fw189 & Cosmic Wind are noth diffrent both are the last of the breeds so should they really be flown, yes its nice to see them (will be nice) to see them in the air but should the worse happen they will be types lost forever.
There are very tentative plans to investigate the possibility of a Hovercraft service from Southend to London or a circular route Southend-Kent Coast-London-Kent Coast-Southend.
Its all down to money, its not cheep to operate even more to set up.
