Just came across this photo on Airliners.net:

What are the two circular markings/apertures on the leading edge??
They are two black stickers applied for the filming of BBC “Land Girls”. I guess they are meant to look like gun ports while also giving the CGI guy a clue as to where to apply the muzzle flashes in post production!

skip to 3:40..
Watch out for the new series of Land Girls which is out in Jan. It not only has some great low level sequences with a Tiger Moth (OK Queen Bee) but also extensive use of the Aces High Dak N147DC..
Thanks Deano, problem solved thanks to a nice C172 owner!
🙂
Speak to the airfield office or manager i.e. Mick Littler!
Can’t you do a short ferry? Bidford may be worth a punt too.
Thanks Blue Robin,
We were there on a recce yesterday and it was the manager who told us he was full, hence the appeal.
There are plan B’s floating about but our operational preference is to find some hangarage at Wellsbourne if we can…
George Lucas “Red Tails” will be released next year, I believe in the latter half..
We saw Pete at Brimpton a few years ago, making him 87 or 88 years of age.
When we offered him a flight in the 108 he literally jumped at the chance and was up the wing and in the seat before we even had a chance to say “do you need a hand?”
However when handed the controls shortly after take off his flying was observed to be a little, shall we say, erratic. Left a bit then right a bit, his head rolling looking out over the left wing and then the right obviously having a bit of trouble with straight and level. Of course a gentleman of his age is well allowed a slight wobble between hand and eye.
Not minding one bit his wandering but looking at the map it was appropriate to suggest that he “comes about 30 degrees right if he could”, to which he replied “Yes yes I know the zone is there, I’m just looking for my daughters house..”
🙂
As bright as a button and a twinkle in his eye. One of the few that made Britain Great.
R.I.P.
Hurry while stocks last…

Would anyone have any knowlage on a Gipsy Major. I am thinking about buying one and want to know if they have a weakness to be aware of or if spare parts are still available. The one I have located is in a barn and has no history. I am thinking about it to power a replica. I understand without any history it is just a rebuildable core.
Thanks
Poletrail
I have 2 complete engines and two bottom ends (with cranks) available. Sitting near White Waltham, Berkshire (EGLM), no reasonable offer refused!
🙂
Thanks guys but this was the specific pic I was after!!
🙂
Try looking for Johnnie Johnson and I think his Lab was Sally, but sure I’ve seen some of him with his dog in the kind of position you require.
Sorry can’t be more specific.

Well done that man!!!
A few photos of the two Bf108s used in the making of 633 Squadron.
Are the registrations of these two aircraft known? I know G-ETME used to be F-BFBV before going to the USA in I believe late 60’s early 70’s (never been made very clear). When was 633 Squadron filmed?
It must be a tough sell getting an old smokey jet to fit in with a large corporates desired public image – what with “green” issues currently so in vogue.
Fingers crossed for the team, lets hope she stays in the air.
Argentina has a couple of Lincolns – both sitting outside and decaying…

Four AN2s, four fat blokes, Ginsters Pasty sponsorship – The Utterly Butt Uglies.
Now that’s entertainment…

Might be next years birthday by the time you finish it! 😀
Carpetbagger – thats the one!!!
Thanks for that – I’ll start now and have it ready for his 25th birthday. The little chap lives in Argentina so I better work towards getting an export CofA for it when its done..
Thanks everyone for allowing a slight “Off Piste”…
😀
Would have thought it would have been an N-reg under ‘experimental’.
TT[/QUOTE]
I believe the N reg “Experimental” cat has geographic limitations. In other words it can’t be flown outside of the USA. Occasionally, and usually as part of a plan to bring the aircraft to the local register, you can be issued an exemption but that needs to be agreed by both the FAA and the local authority (and in a practical sense the insurance company too).
