Not really – but it was a large watering can with a wick stuffed into the spout??

Just for the hell of it – one of these was one of mine.

The non-burst one? But it went through a fire.

Just incredible – the amount of expertise on tap?

I was safer in my one 190 flight than doing that spray job!!

No hijacking involved, Modariz. And thanks all for a useful discussion. I’m sure that I’m not the only one to gain.
I don’t know about photos, but after 30 years in the Fine Art Trade, I do know that signed prints can fetch good money – four figures for multi-signed ones.
This one only, eventually, fetched £38 – I was deeply insulted – especially as I was described as a Spitfire ace!!!

My cousin – ex-Buccaneers – is lunching with us this week!

Oh, dear! – did I start something? Just as well to know, though??
Although I’m a bit ‘touchy’ about a painstaking creation of my a/c, I suppose that a photograph can be viewed as such a creation. And I suppose that I would be a little offended if someone used one of mine for gain.

Forums are great – thanks for all that!!
I would see the signing of a book photo as acceptable because, presumably, the creator has received payment somewhere down the line?
As you know, we sign 100s of books!

My approach would be not to sign such a ‘print’.
Not a quick enough thinker.
Trouble was, there were 6 others signing.
Fascinating nostalgia. Great to have so many forgotten specimens re-born. But no one (I believe) has yet identified their ONE love or aspiration. In that I am not surprised! **
Nor, with small exception, has anyone indicated whether their choices are pie in the sky or from hands-on experience. Or why.
** Because it’s a question of each to its own. No one machine can fill all ones needs or desires. And few of us have had experience of each type in all situations. Wish I had!
Here (once again??) are my meetings. Each has had a character to suit the mood or occasion. Not one was a complete non-love.

With hindsight, my choice would be for a Float Plane or Flying Boat – in neither of which have I been first pilot.
Please forgive the rambling of one of the last of the many!! All grist to the mill? And keeps me out of the Pub??

No – but to start the ball rolling, & for a bit of fun, here’s General Gromov’s signature in my logbook while we were stuck in the ice in Archangel in 1941!!

Sorry – he didn’t use in-flight refuelling!
Of all my hates, the LINK comes very close to the top!!

Thank God for zero level rocket seats!!
Hence my great regret!!

May I add a useless touch of topical tittletattle?
FURIES. ‘My’ No1 Sqn had them before I joined. Always longed to get my hands on one.
Nearest I got was in the same year as the Formby film – at Abingdon – my Uncle was Engineer Officer of XV Sqn – I was 14 – &, bless him, he put me in the back. So much for EU regs??
No – that’s not the actual aircraft – although it just could be!!

Hind, not Hart. Joy was – take off the top wing & you almost had a Hurricane. So my transition was easy.
