Seeing as how Helmut Wick finds a place more than once here, let me remind you of his wickedness in causing me to lose MY grip. In more ways than one!!

    Model? No!

Seaman? I was lucky – had good relations with them. But at least one pilot refused to go to sea again with the same Captain!

Sorry to hear of your problems, Todd.

Person has been asked to make a film about MSFU – I don’t know how much I can say at this stage. I am shortly to be talking with him. Not many others around!!

    = best wishes, Tim

The model I carved in the 10 days crossing to Halifax.

    pagen01 – yes – I had forgotten the link.

And after spending an hour enthralled by Russian Convoys 1941/1945, I was not up to searching.

    Thanks, everyone.

I got to the Home Page & Forum but wrongly thought that there was nothing new there.

Just wanted to alert him ( http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47734 ) to the fact that the story of the CAM Ships is about to be revived.

Had it been LU-V it would have been my beast!

Otherwise your just shooting and hoping that you hit something.

Rapid fire? Wife recalls Paddy pouring buckets of water into the guns to cool them. Is this likely/how??

Only experience of searchlights was with Turbinlites.
Story goes that 1 e/a was disoriented & spun in. About our only success!!

It just bugs me that London suffered so much without much apparent response.

Jayce – AckAck. Whereas our losses over Germany seem to have been very considerable, I don’t recall many e/a losses over here?

    “Would it have been hot?
Why, unlike the enemy, did our guns seldom hit anything?”

    Any ideas??

To my mind, it was just a corruption & easier-off-the-tongue FINAL (approach).

3 Greens was sometimes All Green – even when there were only 2 (on Mk1). This is what I might have used on that night when – however many greens we had – the wheels were conspicuously missing on touchdown……………!!

Reading the above, I have to say that I had never heard the term [B]Funnel[B] until tonight. Live & learn?

Diluting the thread a bit, my first encounter with a 2-seater.
