just a thought about DROPS my local ta unit has DROPS capability if we can split it and lift it, it could be good PR for them, they helped move a dambuster bomb to elvington and its their bread and butter moving stuff about
if it strips down then would the fuselage fit on to a DROPS wagon?
yes of course there is fort paul, but will they have the kind of cash i think they will want for her? and secondly there is the question of salt air corrosion (must be a factor on the baverley as well) would a smaller airframe stand the punishment in winter? as most airframes of this size would be locked up in a T2 some where
if she is till for sale would elvington want her?
good luck with your fight Mr Rhodes hope you win. better still why dont you pm everyone on this forum? or at least those who are on here most of the time or even leave it to levy on BBC1 look north? or even a spread in the hull daily mail?
fantastic sense of humous!:D seriously though what will be needed?
driffield or elvington, not fussed so long as we all benefit from this, but ive just had another thought, if we can save her and move her who wil move her and what do we need?
ive just sent the yorkshire air museum an e-mail explaining the situation, they may know more or even be able to help so fingers crossed.
wondered when the vandalism would start is there anyone at the company to contact? elvington would be the sensible option, look what happened to that varsity near the factory, scrapped for nought, time ask methinks before the gas axe falls.
maybe they could activate the victor sim special open days at elvington? my dad used to have 3 phase machinery in his workshop and his his bills wernt that high woulnd mind seeing a victor sim with all the lights on, ive never seen an active cockpit just fly bys and dead airframes and taxiable ones (lusty lindy springs to mind)
hi im fairly new to this site and ive seen a few tordnadoes but im not familiar with some of the terminology can an anyone help with ETPS TWCU? thanks
thats a nice looking aircraft, just goes to show what happens when hard work pays off, this maybe a shot in the dark, but is there a swift in the same condition ?
signed
done my part, but can we all do more than just sign? if so what can we do?
By Phantom I guess they mean the simulater?
I dont know why they dont use the sims any more. I remember the argosy one working a while back – you would think they would be good revenue as well. Unless theres some rule on using the Phantom one – after all what use is a simulater that doesnt work, as an exhibit?
What happened to the victor sim that used to be in Lincolnshire?
there appears to be a simulator in the restoration shed at elvington (cockpit section) its got wires cables coming out of it and a conventional door handle, looks like it had been painted anti flash white and it looks very much like a victor to me
whats the story on this aircraft?
