The ones to avoid are Row 10, 29 and 40, they don’t recline! 😮
Proper Exit rows are 11 (doors 2) and 30 (doors 3).

No mention of if they’re following FCA’s decision to add extra seat pitch on long haul though.
That publicity photograph on that website certainly doesn’t look like BY’s average seat pitch, it looks far too generous! 😮

If memory serves me right, it normally has around 8-9000 passengers a month in summer, about 75% loads. So a 23% reduction in capacity should see pretty full aircraft!
I think like any other scheduled, it has it peaks and troughs. When I was back in BD res, there were several weeks of the year where it was massively overbooked and you couldn’t get on it for all the tea in china.
However, like anything else, there were several times when it went with 60 or so bums in economy and no one else.
I think the 757 would probably suit the route, however, I’m still concerned that bmi have built a reputation on a consistant longhaul service on the A330 and they might loose that. Its the same with the bmi regional routes. When I joined the company, they were in the process of getting rid of all turbo props to become and all jet regional operator. Now they’re leasing in ATR’s!

Very bizarre schedule. Can’t see it being a massive success although we’ll just have to wait and see as usual.

I have to disagree – GSM want TPA, Flywho want PIE. GSM want MIA, Flywho want FLL
Yes, but do you know why???
TPA and PIE are what… all of less than 10km apart. Flywho only want PIE because they have no previous airline experience and think everyone will know where it is. WRONG!
PIE also offered them a deal they couldn’t refuse, no fees whatsoever as far as I heard.
As for MIA, well… who wouldn’t go into FLL instead. MIA is a dredful airport, overcrowded and a nightmare to get through. Again, with these two, Flywho were offered another similar deal. I don’t think there is currently any scheduled traffic from the UK to FLL (correct me if I’m wrong).
Believe me, there are more conversations between GSM and Flywho HQ’s than you would believe, I used to work there remember!

Globespan’s boss and Flywho’s boss were in talks last year with Flywho wanting Globespan to operate their flights or provide an AOC for them. I believe they are still buddies now.
Maybe there’s a connection here somewhere with the choice of routes especially?

Great report there. You got the 2 ‘old’ A321s rather than any of the ‘new’ ones. I got OZBE and OZBG back in October 2003 when I flew MAN-ALC-MAN and it was still complimentary meals.
Yep, they did feel a little older than you would have expected for an A321, however, they must get some hard usage on all those charters as well. The old fixed aisle TV monitors gave it away!
The LAS-PHL is on a completly different a/c type though I believe.
Amadeus lists US196 LAS-PHL as a 757
This is quite common with US carriers. I think they do the same into LGW but the flight number originates in TPA from what I remember.
United are another one who do this often too. Strange really as if you think about it, you could end up with two flights in the air at the same time, both with the same flight number if one was delayed and other left on time.
