yes, although, I haven’t actually seen a Saab in the new Swiss colours yet, although their home base is at BSL… I certainly saw both Crossair liveries about whilst I was up last week, which is surprising that the older Crossair livery is still about, as it’s three and a half years since the rebranding.
Having said that, there are currently 9 aircraft in the new colours (HB-IZB, HB-IZC, HB-IZD, HB-IZE, HB-IZF, HB-IZH, HB-IZI, HB-IZL HB-IZR), and the fleet is scheduled to be reduced to just 6 as of the winter timetable, so I suppose those Crossair colours will dissapear then. 🙁
Comet, LX will still operate to ZRH from LCY, although it may well be with ARJ’s rather than Saab’s, although I’d suspect the weekend flights’d still be the smaller aircraft.
The Swiss fleet as of the winter timetable will be thus…
9 Airbus A330
9 Airbus A340 / MD-11
22 Airbus A320-Family
19 Avro RJ85/RJ100
14 Embraer 145
6 Saab 2000
nb the MD-11’s will be replaced with 340’s, as and when they arrive (the first one started operating for LX on the 8th of July, on teh Zurich-Dubai-Karachi route), 7 of the 9 are due by Christmas, with the other two due by next March.
not at the moment, but… if and when I do… 30p a pint in Prague dosen’t sound too bad for a wee weekend away… 😉
having said that, 2005’s ages away…
And Dubai’d be great for heading out to Oz… just the one stop with EK’s new 345/346 services to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, rather than having to transfer at least twice…
ya dancer…
Here’s one of mine for you, Adrian…
(the bigger version’s on http://www.airlinepics.com)
theplane, aye, that’s why I’m so hacked off at LX’ cutbacks, and was saying to you that at least GVA had ‘other’ traffic…
A330C, soon, I hope… my parents were away in the alps this week with the camera, but they’re back now, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to pop along some time over the weekend… although knowing my luck, I’ll just get F-GPKM again… I’ve got 37 photos on airlinepics.com they’re easy to find… just search for ‘LFSB’, they’re all mine…
Anyway, I don’t think I’ll have time tomorrow… I feel a late night PPV game on Celtic tv coming up tonight, and I’m supposed to be down the Rugby Club at 11 tomorrow morning to watch the trinations (well, that’s the excuse for propping up the bar, anyway… ;))
According to the AF timetable’s seating plans, Brit Air don’t operate the CR2, they operate the CR1 and CR7.
The CR7 seats 74, the CR1 seats 50.
I think that’s the main difference, apart from the CR7 obviously being much longer.
Nothing particularly exciting, specially with all the LX cutbacks.
As things currently stand, the daily visitors are…
LX A32S on LHR run
LX ER4 and S20 to pretty much every other destination
QE SF3 on smaller LX European routes (currently Bern, Lugano and Amsterdam, although the first two of those will be cancelled as of the winter timetable.)
LH CRJ/AR8 on FRA run
LH DH8/F50 on MUC run
AF A32S on ORY run
AF 100/ER4/AR1 on CDG run
AF ERJ and occasionally S20 on the other domestic routes.
NI ER4 on once daily LIS run
TK weekly 738
Apart from that, just charters, couply of daily Hapag-Lloyd 738’s, Iberworld A320’s MD-80’s, Tunisian 736’s
pretty boring stuff.
The Cargo side is more interesting, but is generally at awkward times of day for photographing…
KAL Cargo 744 (1 a week)
Fed Ex A310 (2 a day)
Air Cairo Tu204 (I soooo want to get a snap of this one, but it lands at 5am, leaves at 6am, returns at 10pm, and leaves again at 10:45pm… not good hours for light :()
more info at http://www.worldairnews.ch
KLM operate the 743 into SXM, too.
with regards to the pic, I’d assume it was taken from miles away with a big zoom lens.
nah, the sea isn’t blue enough to be St. Maarten. With a UK Charter, I’d suggest it somewhere in the Balearics…
think we lost that feature when we moved board…
But at least with this you can rate several times, thereby correcting early impressions, rather than deciding early when someone signs up that they talk sh1te, rating them badly, then finding out they normally talk sense, but not being able to change your rating…
Although, to be fair… I’m not to bothered, it just led to tit for tat rankings of each other, as mentioned, like a bunch of 6 year olds.
But surely they’re not as forgiving towards Scumdrie United?
Team stealers. 😉
(and yes, no one else will understand that…)

Hmmm… you were obviously really tired if you you ordered coffee while you wanted Tea… 😉 😛
feck, at the moment, I’d be happy to just have a job…
well, pilot, I suppose, though that’d be totally unrealistic.
I dunno if they used to, but BD now no longer fly to Germany at all, all their flights to Germany are codeshare flights with LH (who, after all, own 40% (?) of them), and have been for at least the last 5 years.
As for the new terminal at MUC, I dunno what the script is re viewing, but the concourse is about a mile long, so there must be space somewhere for viewing.
Haven’t flow on a CRJ, but I don’t recall having heard anything bad about them.
got an email from them this morning, saying everything’s back to normal…

Subject: British Airways London Heathrow Disruption Update
To: ******Dear Mr Breckenridge
As you will be aware, British Airways has been experiencing major disruption at London Heathrow Terminals 1 and 4 since Friday.
The disruption was caused by unofficial industrial action at London Heathrow regarding the introduction of a new swipe card system. We continue to be in extensive talks with the staff groups and union representatives involved and are striving to resolve this as soon as possible.
As at 3pm, Wednesday 23 July 2003, London Heathrow Terminals 1 and 4 are now operating as normal, as are all other UK and worldwide airports.
If you are travelling in the next few days please visit http://ba.com for the most up to date information.
If your travel plans were affected during this time, we unreservedly apologise.
Yours sincerely,
Dale Moss

I note that they don’t mention that two of the three Unions are about to ballot their members about a strike, and the remaining Union has refused to rule out a ballot.
PS if they reckon pasting it onto this board is unlawful, I’m sorry, but the public should be told.
