My list :
DUS : Excellent spotting facilities and friendly and helpfull staff. Two offical viewing areas with good light for most of the day and various excellet npoints around the fence. Police is no problem.
CDG : Spotting terrace sucks. Spots around the airport are available but police can be a problem. (you can easiyl get a ticket for parking your car in the wrong areas)
FRA : offical viewing area has bad light for most of the day. Spots near “Startbahn West” are execellent on a day with easterly winds. Normal spots for the aprallel runways are good.
PMI : No offical spots. But lots around the perimeter. Good spots for every wind direction and time of the day.
LPA : Good spot on both ends of the runways. Police, security service can be a problem but are generally friendly. Terrace sucks because of tinted glass.
TFS : Good spots.
TFN : Excellent airport. You can get spectacular shots there.
Not the best, but those are the only cvilian airports I spent more then a few hours.

No, the new ones are much better. That was a result of the IIPGW.
And the crews still ove the TOW, although higher up gas decided that they will drop it for the Zulu.
Especially as you can now fly Air Berlin into MAN 🙂

Don’t let Venik see these pictures…he’ll try and convince you that it’s a NATO propaganda ploy using purchased FULCRUMs to make it look like the NATO pilots had success when in his mind the Yugoslav military was dominant and inflicted massive losses on the NATO forces
No, this is one of the 4 German MiG-29s shot down over Serbia. :dev2:
As late as 1987 there was talk of the Sea Apache which replaced the cannon with the APG-65 search radar. It also had retractable main gear fitted outrigger style and an in-flight refuelling probe. Lack of funds seems to have killed this programme.
Rather a lack of interest on the side of the Marines. Well the mArines being the most intelligent service when it comes to spending money, decided that a Sea Apache had no use for them.
The ASuW role is part of the job of the Navy´s Seahawk helicopters and not a job of the Marine helicopters flying from the assault ships.
The AH-64 airframe was not fully navalized, it needed a folding rotor system, which the old Cobras did not need and the Hellfire missile was not seen as a good solution for working in conditions encountered during marine landings. With all the spray and sand disturbing the laser seeker of the missile. We should remember that the Marines still love the TOW today. With so many drawbacks and so few gains the Marines decided that they would not waste the money on that project.
The Navy however had no interest in a ship borne helicopter that had no ASW capabilities.
Btw the Royal marines from the UK would have loved to get a squadron of AH-1W/Z of their own, instead of sharing the Apache with the Army.
nice collection. I should try to get a hop to MAN next spring

Wow,even 3 years after the conflict, the Mig remains were still there?I was thinking they might be taken away or people might have taken some “souvenires”.:)
As i recall each Mig managed to dodge several AMRAAMS but eventually were shot down.
Several AMRAAMs is not quite correct. 😉
Honestly the MD-11 is a catastrophe for airline service. It simply is not commpetitve with other products. LTU for example got rid of their 4 MD-11 quickly, as they prooved to be more costly then the B767s and even the old Tristars.
And then the A330 and A340 were als arriving.

Quite nice, but it is all up to the lense.
However I´m considering selling my Nikon D100 for a new camera. No 20D though.
