BI and deeps strike are better left to the Air Froce or the SOF guys. It is simply a waste of resources to have a helicopter who can avoid a SA-15, bit is easily downed (mission killed) by a group of AK-47 tooting sheperds.

The RAH-66 Comance concept was left over from the Cold war, where air defnses along inte FOB would have been so dense, that anything not stealthy would have been in great danger, if it comes close to the FOB or even tries to cross the FOB. Now if you wanted to do recce on the other side of the FOB, you needed a stealthy helicopter.
However it is unlikely that the US Army will face such a dense air defence system in the future. The main threat will be light guns and manpads.

Experience in Nam showed that the egg survived many crashes the Kiowa killed or injured the crew. So if they went down, then the chances were better in the OH-6.

A come on, everybody knows that Korea would have been reunited decades before under the peace loving rule of the North Koreans, if it would not have been for the interference of the US.
