Could http://www.bahn.de be any more confusing? I went there, entered dates and whatnot, and I’m completely lost. I’m using the english version, as well. Also, I went to http://www.lufthansa.com and entered my info and got a fare of $108Euro. Well, once I entered that I’m a resident of the US, the price shot up to the aforementioned $511US. What kind of garbage is this?

I really suggest the rent a car solution. First of all Autobahns are an experience in their own right. And it offers you a maximum on flexibility during your stay.

Bte. Do you plan a spotting trip or just a regular trip ?

I thought they had already tried that with Condor/Thomas Cook. They stopped doing it since Germans refused to fly with an airline they do not know. It’s history happening all over again.

I´m not so sure about it. Condor is special in that regard. It is the charter airline of Lufthansa for most Germans and has a special image.

Hapag-Lloyd was never so well known, as it was only No.3 when it comes to German charter airlines.

Sadly Hapag-Lloyd is not such a well known brand as Condor or LTU. And TUI itself is a strong brand.
