H.M.S Barham was sunk by a torpedo from Submarine U331. The death of this ship was filmed and it is a very horrific sight when the ship rolls over and a massive explosion takes place.

I could be wrong ??, But even though Gallant it was !!, wasnt the RAF on the run as well as the BEF, No More aircraft for france ,Get the aircraft back home for the coming Battle of Britain ??, and also I recal the french airforce was a Large one, and quite well equipped, but so many were destroyed on the ground,
I bought the Battle of france book from “after the Battle” and the Allied losses in there are Massive amount,

German Losses too were High, But seems alot of the allied airforces were decimated “On the ground”
Thank God For Radar, and the Home Chain system, I see the french never had it, and look how they were decimated on mass on the ground.

infact its one of my many hobbys to collect photos of abandoned,Downed birds from the Battle of france, and eastern front ,there is so many original pics available and they hold a interesting window into the past,

and even though our pilots fought bravely against the odds at dunkirk, it cant have been that effective as the germans were forever bombing the beaches ?
