panel
Hi all
If anyone can answer this question, it will be on of you!
Can anyone identify this instrument panel please.
As always, many thanks in advance.
Not too sure but by the look of that perfect curve, would it be a old DH-Chipmonk panel ??
re-parts
So thats why I drove home with 3 boxes of assorted Canberra instruments,1 Canberra engine instrument panel, and 2 Canberra control columns, oh well in the skip with them now !
Hey, I couldnt help it matey 😮
my mrs works nights so i picked her up this morning and I assumed she would be going to bed for the day, I assumed wrong, it really kicked off, infact i felt bloody awful,:(
she had “Other” plans for me, like most woman do, and pretty much gave me a ultimatum, weve been having a rough time for quite a while, and “Whitwick” was the detonator for her , hence to say ive had a rotten day, I have 2 children so i am not going to break up for the sake of my canberra,
she is sick to the teeth of me and my plane stuff , its everywhere, cant move for it she says, I expect if it was any other hobby it would be the same, I am sorry i could Not go, and as for engine panel and coloumn etc,
thats parts i need,
sorry to have let you down, 😮
and Now i am REALLY gutted i couldnt go, tell you what i will go in there now and have another ding dong with her, and tell her what ive missed today,
Bloody woman, they just dont understand,
thanks , perhaps , you might (not) throw them in the bin ?? pretty please with a cherry on top ??
thanks agian,
a very very depressed and p@@@ed off , gutted, miserable , fed up,
hacked off, (go and slit me throat) 🙁

trailer
cripes she’s a bigger bird than i thought 😀
yep, you are right Ross, whats the point in putting all that work into the cockpit, for it to cause a accident on the M/way, cause injury or even fatalities, and destroy the work you have completed, there should be no compremise with safety,
I will Junk the caravan idea , will have to save up loads for a decent boat trailer
thanks for the advice,
Kind regards
Chris C

partaking
Several glasses of nostalgia….(I was right about that saddle though)
ahem, yes well i was trying to be funny,
do you remember the old yellow pages advert
“fly fishing by j.r.hartley”
back in the mid eighties ??
i guess i am showing my age 😮
i was taking the mick out of that advert, but changed fly fishing to tt18 manual ,
and what does one mean about a saddle ???
😮
millom,
When i go to work in scotland(some time this year) , i would love to come and see your museum, but bristols a bit far for a day trip hehe, but will see you all one day,
I cant wait to see your meteor, as much as i love my Canberra, i cant shake it the meteor is my personal favourite jet, ever since i sat in the cockpit of the one at coventry, i fell for it, now like rocking horse poo,
my friend has great delight in winding me up telling me of the days when he was 15 years old , at raf locking (weston-s-Mare) enjoying “JUMPING” up and down on the wings of the T.7 Gate gaurdian, I shudder everytime he mentions it, he knows it winds me up:D
Still it might happen one day I got my name on the shortlist with the MOD for the one at Senny, as and when its disposed of ,
thanks for your kind Idea / offer ANON , for a look at Milloms AP sets,
But tonght one of the forumites sent me a set of the cockpit layout, so i should be OK, but at least i know where to come if i get stuck,
thanks again
and keep up the good work
Chris C

Yes the panels will be attached to the rest of the Mk.II cockpit remains and will be displayed as a “6 months on from 60 years in the farmers field” category cockpit.

PM on way.Regards
Ross
Thanks Ross,
yes your previous help was great, but i had a job to know exactly what was what, and had a job reading some of it on the diagram,
Now youve cleared that up for me i can start hunting 😀
Many thanks
Chris C
Have tried on more than one occasion to offer a new home for the Sea Prince and to have it restored but they are not interested because they are doing it themselves !! Think any other offers of help would be met with a similar response. Great shame as they are some rare machines there which deserve some more TLC.
ahh well, we you cant win them all, just keep watching sites like these and hope one day they manage to do something with them, and support them,
like i have heard before, its not agaisnt the law to leave your aircraft in a field,;)
they cant be that bad, i mean look at the derelict lightning up north (is it yorkshire??) now thats abandoned, which is different to lasham, as they still
must care for there aircraft as they still want them, unlike the lightning which is in some dire straights, with some sort of legal wrangling going on about ownership,:(

There you go – potential sales and deals already…. come on – you all know its worth making the effort!:D
Ahh see there we go ,i knew the “Sorded topic of Coin” would come into play on the forum somewhere 😀 haha,
personnally i would not know what instruments to get as ive no Manual, ???
I must phone up Mr Haynes (manuals) before i go,
“Hello < ah yes Mr Haynes do you have a copy of Canberra TT.18 circa 1969, ??, i am not sure if you have one it is “rather Old “,
Oh you do !! Marvelous, My name , yes its J.R .Hartley
“Let you forum fingers do the walking” HAHA 😀 :diablo:
Why wont the owner loan out the aircraft, he is obviously keep in aviation so thats would be the sensible thing. Some one should approach the owner the worst they will say is no, no harm done.
Me + merkle would love thos meteors
668
hi 668, as much as i would love a meteor , problem is we have no where to store it at the Mo, and i dont think they would give up the meatbox anyway,
At WZ they used T.7 and F.4 so the NF13 would be wrong anyway , nice all the same,
you exude enthusiasm, and i am really pleased with website etc,
its really good of you to jump on board, now PLEASE dont take this the wrong way, but when you put a post on ie, we would love those meteors
please dont use individual names, Use westonzoyland museum as a blanket,
as a interest for the future, and we would be interested (when) we could house and care for such a rare bird properly,as i dont want to get any more flak on the forum for things i have not personally said, but as a part of WZ Museum, feel free to put posts under that blanket asking around for a inventory of Possible aircraft worth saving,
I wish Lasham all the luck in the world, and if ever they or anyone else ends up in dire straights and we have the room sorted out in the future i am sure WZ museum would Gladly helpout and store there aircraft in a secure safe and loved enviroment,
“Here Here ” for private funded museums and the stirling work they do, if it wasnt for them, many of there aircraft on display whatever state of repair
would have been cut up and melted into baked bean cans decades ago,
Long may you all continue,
Kind regards
Chris C:D
Pictures
I got some good pics to show you, and I am a complete muppet when it comes to computers,
sorry guys i just cant seem to get the pictures to you
ahh, just a thought
i could put the zoyland canberra page link in , so you can see what i mean about gutted of flight instruments, surely there is mor than 1 panel ??
http://www.freewebs.com/westonzoyland/themuseum.htm
not trying to hijack , but its the only way i can get you to see what i am talking about,
Thanks
Chris C
Canberra tt18
Being a Novice with the canberra and not being able to find a AP ,
how many panels exactly does the canberra have in the front cockpit, and being the front of my tt18 is devoid of anything ,what parts were in front of the pilot in the nose section of a canberra B2/ TT18
i only seem to have some instruments in the rear Navigators/whichmans position ??
i will see if i can post any pics , not great but the nose was in a real awkward position to take photos 😉
