WL795 Rosalie
What is curious is that although it appears that 795 was nicknamed Rosalie , the original engineers panel had the name Zebedee written on it.
Maybe 795 had a spring in its step on a few landings 😀

WWII Invasion – without the US ?
Pains me to say it, but in my opinion Britain would’ve been royaly screwed without the yanks, just by the fact of shear numbers & manufacturing capabilties alone is a good enough argument, before getting into any other details.
Equally, without the Britain & it’s traditional allies, the US wouldn’t have been able to launch a successful invasion either.
Sort of “one all” if you ask me.

two 22,000Ib Grand Slams would be approx 20 tons, a mighty uplift, even for a B29, so I’d wager on a spot of confusion going on there.

Got a photo of it just entering service with Baz’s private airforce

& then, as if by magic, I find myself recalled from leave & conscripted onto the ground handling flight, within that very same organisation.
I was paid most handsomely though, receiving a magnificent 1:100 Stuka in a presentation box, for my efforts. 😀
Scottish armed forces – what might they look like?

No doubt it happened, but would someone dangling in a parachute be an easy target to hit though? If you look at the size of target, rate of descent & closing speed, plus what other fighters were up to in the vicinity, it may not be as simple as all that.
I have a few books that mention collisions with parachutists, all accidental, I find that to be more likely.
