Outstanding Jetflap, those are really interesting ![]()
Got a few hand-me-downs of my Grand-dads on a similar theme, people of that era have such nice handwriting too, puts many of us to shame.
The Airfix example.
Back in the days when Airfix did some really cool stuff….
Impressive looking packaging with prominent Swazzy, not sure if that could be allowed to happen these days:rolleyes:

Contents, untouched since new, yes readers, this is the very first time this uber collectable has seen the light of kitchen strip light!

Nice illustrated pamphlet about the real project

polystyrene main components, with a bag of injection moulded parts & plasticine weight.
The wings & fuselage are to covered with printed paper to match the fabric used on the real Colditz C0ck

Instruction sheet

one of which is for the chap that I have promised since 2003 to build him..
Not that Dynavector one you bought of me? 😮
Got my Airfix example arriving shortly, more loft insulation.
Got two of the Airfix flyable examples up in my loft. One of the boxes has been chewed into by mice.
Makes me wonder if the mice that live up there are planning to put it together glide & to freedom 😀
Hey Pagey, remember we know someone who got turned down from Yes Car Credit (no car credit as it turned out) & Ocean Finance 😀

Well said Kev. ![]()
Sad to see these old soldiers like Johnny getting fewer.
ps Great report, embarrassed to say it’s the first time I’ve read it.

Dead GR3 at St Mawgan, took this shot quite a while back.

HHmmmmmm might need three kits actually…….
must resist……:o
Now lets examine the basic kit….

I feel like a challenge is being thrown down here… but no, regrettably I just can’t be bothered to put myself through all that again. 😮
Aha! Hence the 2x plus sawing & plastic card…
Not an impossible task, granted not an easy one either, but all it needs is the Will to succeed….
A couple of the Airfix control tower kits, some plastic card & spot of sawing ‘n’ gluing, you could build your very own 1/72 scale version.
Yes very good ![]()
