Yip, Bhoy’s the Celtic fan and I follow Glasgow Airport’s nearest team St Mirren, mainly because my wee brother used to play for them mind you. He’s since moved to Kilmarnock FC .
Sometimes watching the planes come and go from my view at Love Street in the stadium is (often) more entertaining than the football.
This will be my last post until I get back from Spain. Here’s to Celtic… Here’s to some excellent spotting opportunities… and here’s to getting out of the Glasgow weather for a few days.
😎
Nice comments Mike
and as my old granny might have said… “Eat up, yer at yer aunties”. 😀
I wondered about G-IONA when I saw those pics ? She was still working for Highland Express when I took the pic below the other week at Glasgow.
I don’t think even Highland Express had her for long as the barely altered American Eagle scheme suggests ?
Hope the food is better than on a real “plain” .
I see this thread has received a mention in the new magazine!
I thought Monarch were starting a Glasgow-Cuba direct service this summer wouldn’t that be handy ?
Enjoy the trip whatever happens, I was sat beside a Glasgow lady on a Gatwick-Glasgow BA 737, who’d just returned from Cuba and she couldn’t stop raving about the place.
I got one of those amenity bags travelling long haul with Aer Lingus.
Yes the North Sea oil industry makes Aberdeen one of the most expensive places to live in the UK outside London. The BA gold card owners probably had them in real gold too.
I’ll dedicate a thread to the whole trip when I get back.
Cheers 🙂
Cheers for that info, the 5am time is actually my call time and not the flight time 0915 I think ?
G-MULL in a bit of a state at Manchester… Anyone know what finally became of the BA/Cally birds ?
I always found the sight of Caledonian Tristars a bit odd having been used to their DC-10’s in the old days. Although I think painting up the DC-10’s in BA colours was even odder !
Manchester West- Liverpool
Manchester North- Blackpool
It’s a bit cheeky charging extra for these seats I think, especially as the extra leg room is there as a by product of having the emergency exit, it’s not like they designed the space exclusively as an extra leg room facility.
I’d still love to know what the cabin crews on the Empire flying boats said instead of “In the unlikely event of landing on water” (lol)
