Do you know a good machinest??
If you can get the ally and can tee up a guy with a CNC miller I can throw over a DXF or STL file of it for you.
Congratulations
To Tom and the team, hope you enjoy every minute of her and every success for the future.Well done.
Whats next!!A holiday??Or are you looking forlorn at the Tempest,or are you having a holiday with the Tempest?:D
A couple for me
A pimply faced ATC going for a run in one of the Armies UH-1 Hueys going sideways through gorges near Williamstown then a high speed jaunt along the beaches near Newcastle(the Aussie one).Next day was a “loud” hop in a Chinook to land out in the bush where some Paras where waiting.Sitting down to watch them take off then jump remains one of my earliest memories.Latest one was after working a week for my ex boss him taking me in for a run into town in his 80%Fw190 replica.Strange and eerie looking out the wing and seeing a Maltese cross on it. Pure adrenaline it was with the power/weight ratio.
20 years ay…
God I,m getting old…..and fat.:(
Time line..
Interesting to find that on the 30027 Sheet75 drawing is a note… To be fitted to 21st & subsequent aircraft..:)
A quick study of the drawing
It does look like a recess in there as well as a tray or bracket to house something.Just looked at the note:Plate item 1675 to be fitted “IF” Fuselage plating is cut to install tail parachute (see sheet 70).
Maybe it was an option to site the tail chute there??Maybe sheet 70 holds the answer…:)
ROFLAO….
Officer Plod to Hq…
“Your not going to believe us?”
“So how come the Panda van is now a smouldering crater in the ground, tell us again how it happened…”:D

Ollie!!!!
Mark 12 would be shocked….In the Spit the frames start at the firewall which is called Frame5.The instrument panel sits on frame8 and the one behind the pilot is frame11.Frame 18 and 18a are back near the tail. Will look at the drawing but could it be a reinforcement for the extra strain imposed by a chute deploying on the tail unit?
Interesting…
As long as all the blades were done the same and the prop balanced properly it could have been possible.A propellor blade aerodynamics specialist could answer better.I only did basic stuff at TAFE when I did my trade.A looooooooooong time ago.;)
How insulting…
Putting us in the same league as the yanks…:p 😀
Honestly it is bad and terrible but the only way to beat these hoodlums is to have the rest of society show them what they are doing is wrong.A bit of National Pride goes a long way I,ve found. This year a polli tried to put a stop to us Aussies showing the Australian Flag on Australia Day,fearing the “other” cultures would be up in arms. What followed was every man woman and child soon found an Aussie flag to hang out on the day.Ye goods you guys are the “Mother” country.Show it and quieten the local fools who take great pleasure by putting fear into the rest of the population.
Hmmm nice…
Now times by 3 and you have the Australian price..
A page from the Drag racing fraternity..
I,d go for an aluminium engine plate that ties the frame and engine together at the front. This will give a solid enough mount for the hydraulic motor.
Thanks Fluffy!!
Looks like the ones us Spitaholics are keen on.Couldn,t be cheeky and put a ruler over them could you..:D To do it yourself lads check out this site…
