No Spitfire Cees?Cant remember it arriving here in Australia.
Did Jg891 have the 4 20mm as well as the brownings before?
It has been quiet.
Its amazing what a Laser level,a Theodolite and a good tape measure can pick up.We used a 100x100x 3mm RHS section as our spine for A58-27.After checking the beam length of the RHS along it had a twist in the section.Frustrated the hell out of us shimming the blighter straight.
Back on Topic, soooo is there more than one Jig in NZ?
Found another one.
Misidentification maybe?Do recall stories of crew seeing high intensity German flares in the distant night (Scarecrow) until it was found out they were the remains of fuel tanks burning of falling bombers.
Just to add the cable appears to attached (clipped) to the inner fuselage red photo, so may possibly not be the Sutton Harness cable.
Any ideas?
Trim cable would go through a fairlead at F12 and not clipped on fuselage.Radio Teflex is a possibility.
Yes…In here somewhere it says Bright Green Fluro Dye.

Im thinking F12 or F13 with the shape of the gusset for the hood rail.F11,s one is much shorter.
Have the parts in a proper heat treatment oven with accurate, stable temperature control. Also make sure there is a proper airflow around the part.Rapid quenching is the key, most have a dunk tank directly underneath the oven to get the heat away quickly to set the hardness. After quenching you have about 20sec for the part to be fully hard as there will be some distortion involved.Best thing is to take the forming jig that made the part and clamp it back into it straight after quenching.
