A really enjoyable video. thanks for posting
Nice pictures. I did think that apart from when taking off, the baby spits tended to stay further away.
I’ve often wondered why they don’t walk round with buckets. At almost every show I went to in 2010 someone was collecting for something!
As said previously Ebay fees will be expensive and they will have a nice chunk for their final value fee.
Lovely pictures, as for MissD’s colour scheme, really love it but never been able to photograph it in perfect light! I read once that it represents the universe from the centre of the sun to the outer reaches of the solar system. Great concept!
When I went two years ago we sat on the grass near the flightline, about fifty yards from the orchestra, plenty of space, lovely evening, would recommend it to everyone.
The Sea King flyover as the couple left the palace was brilliant and definitely a lot lower than 1000′
Now those really bring back some memories! Especially the pre 1965 stuff when I was a pimply faced schoolboy spotter!
Certainly looks a little strange but a great achievement all the same, well done to them.
A friend of mine purchased a flight in PV202 some years back, if I remember correctly it cost her £1500 for about 20 minutes. Not sure how they got around the regulations though!
Nice to see that 60 years later several of these aircraft are still around.
I was an Admin Apprentice 304th Entry, 1965-66, so only had to spend a year there, being young and fit in those days I spent many an hour running around the airfield watching the movements.
The one thing that frustrated me was the glimpses we got of the aircraft in the workshops as we marched past every day on the way to school, I would loved to have spent time in there!
My only criticisms were a lack of toilets towards the 03 end of the runway and the smaller aircraft which missed displaying towards that end entirely. There were a lot of people down our end and smaller items like the AAC, Blades and Seahawk were quite a distance away. I realise that display aircraft work around the display centre but when you have such a long crowdline I feel that it should all be displayed to. Overall I thought it was a very good show.
That’s the one, but I’ve always thought that she was Channel Airways, well it was a long time ago!
Guess I should come out of the closet! Born Rochford hospital in 1949 but didn’t start going to the airport until ten years later as a ‘spotter’, first aircraft I saw was Vickers Viking G-APOP, well I think that was the reg! Great days, could wander around the hangars, cautiously, investigate the scrap dump, prentices as far as the eye could see. Remember the first flight of the Carvair, the excitement of the arrival of Channels DC-4, G-ARYY, those were the days!
