So the chances are that this rebuild will be carried out by a UK firm then?

Lake Schwerin, I remember reading this story first as a news item in Aeroplane Monthly, and the full story in warbirds worldwide. According to the article at the time more aircraft had crashed in that lake (Tempests and other Doras)

Was this the airframe they let corrode to dust initially?

Are you doing the Navs station then?

No, not enough room, but perhaps part of the navigators panel will be fitted but I haven’t decided yet. The floor of the cockpit is at the same height as the navigators table would have been.

Looking Really nice Cees what going to be the overall length/width of the project when it`s finished?

    Martin,

Length about 3 metres, width about 1,70 metres and height about 2 metres.
But now the sides are skinned it looks huge.

    Hi Peter,

Yes, that’s the idea, I asked Karl Kjarsgaard and he had some suggestions. If according to plan it will be a Canadian Halifax but the nose art will have to fit the “canvas”. I have the book about RCAF nose art, but sofar nothing “fitting” or interesting enough has been found. I will apply the nose art myself .

    The search continues.

Great to see those stories being checked, you never know what you may find and it can be dissapointing perhaps, but this one can be stricken off the list.

    Good work Elliott and crew.

Perhaps they can rename the RAFM into the training Command Museum then.

The T10 scheme was postwar, if there were dozens of Welllingtons extant then it might be a good idea, but as there are only two…….

    275?

The number must have almost doubled compared to the previous Spitfire survivors around the world edition, not that I mind though.

Also the fact that some early Seafires will emerge in a few years time is good news. Strange that three airframes with consecutive serialnumbers are coming back to life again.
Did I miss XIV RN203 somewhere, dug up from Germany (serial from memory)

Cees, it’s good to hear that some of LV905 has found a good home with you, too!

The craftsmanship involved in your restoration fills me with admiration.

As does the continuing activity, particularly in Holland, to ensure those who died fighting for your (and our) freedom are not forgotten.

    Thanks Icare9

Lex, who does the metalworking ( I am a mere assistant) would blush from your compliment.

Well, Holland suffered quite a lot during WWII and the Allied aircraft in the skies gave the people hope. Even today the aicrew are held in high esteem.
