Ahh that one,
I thought having read sometime ago that recently substantial wreckage had been recovered and sold to the US.

Some nice items, that BP Type E tail turret cupola looks very nice (Halifax, Liberator).
Lot of Lanc bits too. Didn’t he have the nose and ventral turrets restored of a Wellington?

Read something about a WWII pilot too

Any more info on the wreck and it’s current condition?
Cees
Any pics or footage?

This was also the reason for the Stuka to have the “swing bracket” under the fuselage to prevent the bomb from hitting the propeller.

To stay on topic:
Any news on the recent UK Spitfire recovery (wing, spinner). Was it the Orkney? It was reported in our favourite mag that work was ongoing and
presumably the location of the fuselage had been located? Please a sensitive answer, otherwise I shouldn’t have bothered.:very_drunk:
Any news on that?

Good to see you start work on her.
Early November I visited Elvington and was looking at the Meteor and thought it looked very sorry for itself.
Although you have quite a bit of a project on your hands.

The RAFM provided battle wings to an Australian project sometime ago. From this airframe perhaps?

Any updates on EN224?
The Mk XII is together with a twenties series Spit the most anticipated version to fly (if you ask me).

Looks Dakota to me? TT

I think they just need bolting together at the transport joint, once the final destination has been determined. Hope they sort out the cockpit glazing before it goes on show though.
Thanks Simon for the link,
Didn’t know it was finished. Has been a while since I last looked at the progress. Great project. Shows what can be done.
