    When cleaning my Halifax control column it was painted aluminium, but underneath it had traces of interior green paint on it.

    Is that the same shop where about five Spits were being rebuild simultaneously? I remember seing a pic of a Merlin type tailsection in a jig.

    Great update Elliott, long overdue too:eagerness:
    Good to see the good old Whitley not being forgotten.
    Imagine the wing box section with both wings attached, now that would be a sight.
    Also that would mean you have two wings sticking out of your house.

    Nice to see the remains of the sky fuselage band and the dark green underneath the fillet. Was the whole of the fuselage sprayed before the fillet was fitted?

    They made seats for Halifax as well.

    I have that book as well, even have met Mr Kirby in person. Nice chap. Not too many interior details in there though.
    In it is a full acoount of the crash of L7518, the remains of which we recovered during 2000.
